This was a post facto analysis of an in-game decision from a critical moment in the game. While it is not realistic to expect players to memorize historical probabilities of game states, this can still be a useful tool for players to learn and make better decisions in the future

What about finding touch 5m from the goal line? The EP of a 5m lineout is 2.34 EP which is greater than EP(goalkick) = 1.97. Unfortunately, kickers were only able to find touch 5m from the goal line only 5.77% of the time so it would take an exceptional kick to get there.
