Every country determines Eid based on the testimonies of its own witnesses. Below is the official statement issued yesterday by the Supreme Court of Afghanistan regarding the moon sighting: A large number of people in the provinces of Helmand, Farah, and Ghor in Afghanistan sighted the moon of Shawwal, and they presented their testimonies before the Sharia courts. Their testimonies were deemed valid according to Islamic law.
