@bee_asks Absolutely m this is exactly what I was talking about to someone yesterday. The narrative is so imbedded in us that we strive to be "chosen". And it creeps into all our relationships.

Women are conditioned from a very young age to want to be chosen. The entire global marriage system is built around that premise that a man will one day choose you and somehow make you more than you are. The message women absorb is: be more beautiful, more agreeable, more everything so you can be chosen. It externalises your self worth. When being “chosen” becomes the proof of value, a woman’s sense of self can quietly hinge on someone else’s decision. This is not a “I hate all men” argument. I am a pro marriage person. I am making a case against the way it’s conducted (love or arrange). I believe love should not be a verdict but a mutual understanding.

One of those days when you started off on a wrong foot and now nothing seems to be falling in place. Taking wrong exits on the highway, spilling coffee in the car, forgetting meeting agendas, getting mad at everything and everyone.

@bee_asks In my humble experience there is no such thing as wrong foot. The turn you took may have saved you from an accident or a altercation. The coffee spill and the forgotten agenda maybe Allah wants you to take a step back today & rest or focus on something that needs more attentiom

@bee_asks Singers and talent aside I am just so glad I am able to listen to all these beautiful old Pakistani songs. Absolutely brilliant.

I accidentally came across audition reels from Pakistan Idol this year, and Holy Cow! Every contestant is singing like they were born for the stage, singing the raw Pakistani songs and ghazals in regional languages. I am blown away. I have always established a viewpoint that we are the most creative nation in the South East Asia. You get this level of talent when training for music is overall frowned upon and we produce a thousand times better talent than a country who reveres Saraswati as the goddess of music. Our talent eats them and leaves no crumbs.
