I have read @Kiran_Jupally column carefully and with the respect it deserves. Writing a researched piece takes real effort and I acknowledge that, even as I disagree with several of his conclusions. I have always believed that differing views, expressed with decorum, make for better public conversation than echo chambers. So here is where I stand — some points I counter with facts, and some areas I will reserve judgment on until I have looked more closely @Iam_REDDY24 Let me start with the most important question the article never asks. Who governed Telangana for the last 11 years? BRS ruled this state with an iron grip for 10 years. They had the Chief Minister, the cabinet, the MPs, the MLAs, and direct access to Delhi. KCR garu positioned himself as Telangana's sole guardian. And yet — the Bayyaram Steel Plant was never pushed seriously. The water boards were never made fully operational despite being in Hyderabad, under BRS watch. The Assembly seat expansion from 119 to 153 — a demand BRS could have taken up legally and constitutionally — gathered dust. For 10 years, BRS chose to build palaces in Pragathi Bhavan, run family politics, and now their supporters write articles blaming Modi Ji for what their own government failed to chase. Then came Congress in 2023. Promising six guarantees. Rythu Bharosa still waiting. Debt crossing Rs 7 lakh crore. The same story — grand promises, quiet betrayal. And now Congress too joins the chorus blaming the Centre, hoping Telangana forgets who was running the state all along. Now let me address the specific claims. On tax devolution — the article frames this as Modi Ji deliberately starving Telangana. This is factually wrong. Tax devolution percentages are decided by the Finance Commission — a constitutionally independent body. The decline in Telangana's share happened because the formula now uses 2011 census population data. Southern states like Telangana, which successfully controlled population growth over decades, are structurally disadvantaged by this formula. This is a national federal issue affecting all southern states — not a targeted punishment. In fact when Telangana's devolution dipped in 2020-21, the Modi government gave Telangana special compensatory grants of Rs 6,764 crore to make up for it. Did BRS thank Modi Ji for that? Did any article in Telangana Today cover that? On "systematic financial neglect" — in a single visit to Adilabad in March 2024, Modi Ji launched over Rs 56,000 crore worth of projects for Telangana. Roads, power, rail — all in one day. Telangana received Rs 47,853 crore from the Centre in 2024-25 alone. That is 22% of the state's entire revenue. When BRS was spending borrowed money on a Rs 600 crore Chief Minister's residence, the Centre was quietly sending thousands of crores to the state. Where was that money going? On Hyderabad Metro — Phase I was the world's largest metro Public Private Partnership project. Under PPP rules, Viability Gap Funding is capped — it is not the same as a government-owned metro. Comparing Hyderabad Metro's VGF with Chennai Metro's Central funding, without mentioning this structural difference, is deliberately misleading. For Phase II, the Centre has already agreed to contribute Rs 4,230 crore — 18% of the Rs 24,269 crore project. This is not abandonment. This is active partnership. The delay is in technical evaluation — a process that exists to protect public money. And who caused years of delay by not even submitting proper DPRs on time? The BRS state government. On the Regional Ring Road — the article calls the change from access-controlled expressway to National Highway a "downgrade." It is the opposite. National Highway status means NHAI takes over funding, construction, and maintenance. The Central government bears the financial burden. A state-funded expressway would have meant Telangana's already stretched finances carrying the load. BRS used the RRR as a political talking point for years while doing very little to actually move it forward. The moment BJP decided to bring it under NH — so the Centre could fund it — it became "discrimination." On bifurcation promises — yes, some are pending. But let us be honest about who was responsible for following up. The AP Reorganisation Act put obligations on both the Central government and the state government to work together. For 10 years, BRS preferred to fight with the Centre publicly for political mileage rather than sit across the table and get things done quietly. Every pending promise was an election poster for KCR. Getting them fulfilled was apparently less useful than keeping them as grievances. In that sense current CM is doing better work in reaching out to Centre Column ends article saying Modi Ji has "lost the moral authority" to seek a mandate from Telangana. I would ask — what moral authority does BRS have, after 10 years of borrowing Rs 7 lakh crore, running a family business disguised as a government, and now writing opinion pieces from the opposition benches blaming everyone except themselves? What moral authority does Congress have, after coming to power with six guarantees, delivering almost none, and continuing to pile debt on the next generation of Telangana? Modi Ji came to Bhagyanagar in 2013 before anyone else believed in this city's political significance. He returns now in his third term. The Centre has sent funds, launched projects, and built infrastructure. Are all promises fulfilled? No — and @BJP4Telangana will continue to push hard for every single one of them from a position of strength, not helplessness. The difference is simple. Modi Ji comes with a track record and a vision. BRS comes with excuses. Congress comes with a calculator counting guarantees it has no intention of keeping. Telangana deserves better. And better is coming. Swagatam Modi Ji. Bhagyanagar is ready. 🙏
