@thespeakx My FIL is getting charged every single month and there is no way to cancel his subscription to your app. Your app treats every single install as a new user and there is no way to trace back his subscription in the app. Can you please assist as he mistakenly signed up?

@turmyshevd @kskrygan +1 to this. The challenge is not generation of latest code as per new standards but rather how to verify if the new code works. Legacy codebases lack test coverage or even know-how of how to test the feature which is running in production.

@kskrygan I’d argue the bottleneck is already verification, not generating “perfect” PRs. The hard part is proving they’re actually perfect at scale.

Question to tech leads, engineering managers, etc Imagine AI codegen that flawlessly fixes even messy legacy systems. PRs are perfect, it's running in the cloud, CI/CD and ALM integrated. Would that immediately make your team more productive? What will be the next bottleneck?

@aviralbhat 100k / 12 = ~8k rent I am yet to meet a tech worker in bay area who is paying ~8k in rent. At this point why wouldn't they just take up a mortgage. Either this friend is imaginary or they should be gifted a book on elementary finance.

My friend in Big Tech told me that a $600K job in SF actually isn't Big as it seems: - $270K or 45% in taxes - $100K on housing in rent - $60K on groceries + transport - $20K on travel++ You're left with $170K or ~30% of income just on basics, which is a low savings rate

@TheTakesSmith @Appyg99 @Loopify What you are imagining was true before even these delivery apps existed. You make a phone call to your local pizza shop & they deliver the food. Delivery apps provide with you optionality which comes with distribution. To compete you need a network not a new app

@VarunUpadh84305 @Appyg99 @Loopify Your comments sound like you’re getting there. You think it’s crazy cuz your mentality is “what’s the scale business here?”but This is what the long tail looks like. The long tail is the scale in aggregate.

The Citrini's post is full of half-asseries & lacking discipline to analyze second-order effects. The laughable part about Doordash being easily vibe coded away because AI. As if marketplace dynamics isn't the complexity in the business. Or that India's economy being crushed by AI? Please, if anything, cheap white-collar labor with access to cutting-edge AI makes it game over for talent in expensive economies.

@TheTakesSmith @Appyg99 @Loopify Does every customer spins up their own version of Doordash in this scenario? Why do you even need an app then? Just store a contact in your phone & text the dasher with above contract

@VarunUpadh84305 @Appyg99 @Loopify Dude I just said it. Trust an up front payment source (Venmo) as a % of total order cost + forward thinking drivers willing to take a chance. Do you read?

@TheTakesSmith @Appyg99 @Loopify Also how many gig workers can you convince to take a chance. 10/20/50. What have you achieved after convincing them? Missing out 50 deliveries is a rounding error for such a scale. Also convincing dashers to trust 10 different such apps in just being naive

@TheTakesSmith @Appyg99 @Loopify The scale at which these companies operate, asking a dasher to trust a promise of "i-am-gonna-venmo-you" is a joke. Dashers, customers & merchants are on these apps due to distribution. Business != software. Software is one component of Doordash

@TheTakesSmith @Appyg99 @Loopify Also as a customer why will I add my payment methods on a vibe coded app? Why will the merchant onboard their complete inventory on this app? These businesses have done a lot of deal making by working with merchants . It cannot be replaced with an API call.

@TheTakesSmith @Appyg99 @Loopify Because the challenge here is not technical but rather distribution . Why would a dasher trust a random agent? How will the agent send that order to the merchant ? Is dasher going to manually go into the restaurant and order? DoorDash connects customer, dasher and the merchant.
