🇧🇸Much of the location filming for "Thunderball" took place near Clifton Pier, Love Beach & South Ocean Beach, as well as Paradise Island, which was owned by Huntington Hartford. His then wife Linda appeared in the Kiss Kiss Club scene, along with Bahamain musician King Errisson.

Superman II premiered in the States 45 years ago. Watching Clark get beat up was brutal as a kid. Reeve sells every ounce of the pain, so the comedy payoff lands like a release valve. His “I’m alright, kids” 4th wall break is why Christopher Reeve is the quintessential Superman.

@franksinatra "All Alone" is in my Top 5! One of my favorite FS albums. The combo of The Voice and Gordon Jenkins' strings and the sentimental Berlin waltz ballads are an unbeatable mix. In a few places, this album can actually bring a tear to your eye.

Released in 1962, ‘All Alone’ is comprised of waltzes arranged and conducted by Gordon Jenkins. Originally intended to be titled ‘Come Waltz With Me,’ the album title was replaced after Frank decided to remove the song from the album’s final tracklisting.

June 4, 1927: Actor Geoffrey Dyson Palmer is born in North Finchley, Middlesex, UK. While best known for playing Bond alum Dame Judi Dench's sweetheart in the series "As Time Goes By" he also played Admiral Roebuck (& M's lover) in "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997).

@RodneyMarshall1 I was fortunate to see him metamorphose into Mozart, on Broadway, opposite David Suchet's Salieri. He was outstanding!

In addition to being a fabulous classical stage actor, I'm always in awe of Welsh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿actor Michael Sheen's ability to metamorphose into real people: Tony Blair, Kenneth Williams, David Frost, Brian Clough...You never feel he is impersonating them; you feel that he has become them.

@Vaughan1019 When you asked about this I looked it up. I could have sworn there was a photo of him somewhere in M's office or her home but I couldn't find anything on this. Either I'm misremembering or it's really obscure. I'll have to rewatch & see if I can spot it!

Am hearing that Clint Eastwood has retired after more than 70 years as an actor and director. What a career. A thread on my favourite CE movies will have to wait for another day, but thank you for providing us with such a great range of fantastic films. #Legend

Michael Patterson: I was experimenting with how to create a fleeting impression. If you look at a Turner painting, you can see into it: the style might be impressionist but you can still see the reality. I wanted to do animation that had that quality. (Top left photo M Patterson)

@retroist I was one of thousands injured on the Alpine Slide! Big red burns on my shoulder and knee. The "first-aid" person approached me with a spray bottle of red liquid. ME: "Hey is that mercuric-" (SPRAY) "Ahhhhhhhhh!" If you haven't seen it, the "Class Action Park" doc is great!

As summer approaches I have thinking about my times at the most exciting and dangerous amusement park in New Jersey, Action Park. Never got hurt there, but it's easy to see how other people did.
