CLOUDFLARE CEO EXPLAINS HOW HE CHOSE WHICH EMPLOYEES TO LAY OFF DUE TO AI This man just laid off 1,100 people during Cloudflare's best quarter in company history. $639.8 million in revenue. 34% growth. Record free cash flow. He then wrote a Wall Street Journal op-ed explaining how he decided which employees to replace with AI. His framework: every company has 1) builders (engineers) 2) sellers (salespeople) 3) measurers (middle managers, operations, HR, finance, analytics) According to him: AI replaces the measurers. He admitted he could not find a single example in U.S. business history of a public company growing at 30%+ that simultaneously cut 20%+ of its workforce. So he made himself the first. The stock dropped 24% before rebounding steadily the past two weeks. Nearly 1 million people applied for 1,111 Cloudflare internships. He cited that as a sign of opportunity. Read that ratio again. That is 900 rejections for every single acceptance. So, I wonder: if AI truly made your employees more productive, wouldn't the rational move be to keep them and capture more output? You only cut if this is about margins. Not transformation. Margins. Cloudflare has over a dozen roles open in India on LinkedIn, and has filed for 251 H-1B employees in the past 24 months.

Appointment of Acting Inspector General of the @ForceNampol (NAMPOL)
The Presidency informs the public that Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, has appointed Major General Anne-Marie Nainda as the Acting Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force, with immediate effect.
Major General Nainda will serve in an acting capacity for a period of one (1) year, taking over from Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo.
This appointment is made in accordance with Article 32(4)(c)(bb) which vests the President with the authority to appoint the Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force.
Major General Nainda is a seasoned law enforcement professional with extensive experience in policing operations, administration, and strategic coordination. She has served in several senior command roles within the Namibian Police Force and is widely regarded for her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to public service.
Her Excellency the President has expressed full confidence in Major General Nainda’s leadership and her ability to ensure the continued maintenance of law and order.

Jordan In Fiery Clash With Keown As He Defends The Show He Worked On 👊
Simon Jordan did not hold back as he explained exactly why Football Focus has been axed.
“The reason why it’s gone is because it’s not very good”, he said, adding that people would watch the iconic show if it had “something intriguing at the centre of it”.
He then turned his fire on presenter Alex Scott:
“I think the presenter was flat. No charisma. No insights.”
Martin Keown quickly jumped in to defend her:
“I think that’s not fair.”
Jordan fired back instantly:
“You would do because you worked on it with her.”
As Keown continued interrupting and defending the programme, Jordan grew visibly frustrated:
“I’m not sure why we’re drawing you into this conversation,” he snapped, before landing the decisive blow:
“Ultimately a show is held together by the people that are in it. I look at that show and think it was pedestrian. It focused on issues that weren’t important. I’m not interested in the sexuality of football fans of West Bromwich Albion!”
Keown replied that change happens but we can still celebrate what the programme was all about. Even Jim White couldn’t resist, telling him:
“Well you can because you were on it!”
Simon Jordan is spot on. Football Focus lost its way, stopped focusing on football, and viewers switched off.
Alex Scott’s was a big part of the problem. The axe was inevitable.
