It was Congress high command who decided that who would be next PM of India.
Nehru was 14 years younger than Sardar Patel that is why Congress high command chose him.
So that we can get a pm who can serve for 15 years back to back.

As Sardar Patel died in 1950 only because of poor health.
And Sardar Patel was a staunch Congressi and was a staunch anti-rss and communal bigots.
