@Sasquxtch at the end of the day, something can be done rather than just praying it never happens again. doing what other countries did makes it harder for these people to do bad things, which is all i’m asking for.
English

@Venitt_ that would just open up the flood gates for even more guns coming in over the border though and still haven’t even gotten into switches either lol
there are alternatives around EVERYTHING which is my entire point lol…these sick people will STILL get their pawns on these guns
English

@Sasquxtch also important to note theres no cohesion state to state, which ties to your earlier point of people just bringing in guns from places with looser laws and bringing them back. which you should know is common here w/ IN/WI purchases being linked to chicago shootings (60% of them)
English

@Sasquxtch it's more extensive than just "more background checks". training/licensing is more extensive, stricter waiting periods, stricter storage/mental health rules, and most importantly, all of these things are blocked from being advanced by republicans due the nra and donor influence
English

@Sasquxtch im not calling for gun-type bans or taking anyone's "rights". im talking about common sense laws like they have implemented in other countries that make it harder for "sick" people to access guns while still allowing ownership. that's my point, which requires action.
English

@Sasquxtch I'm not denying that, but making it harder for sick individuals would reduce the likelihodo right? that's all i want
English

@Sasquxtch yes, bad thing happen, but I want them to happen less often and in order to do that you can pass laws to make that happen. that is why i want something to be done rather than saying we can't do anything like you originally said
English

@Venitt_ I get it, and I agree to an EXTENT, but my whole point (and my whole point two years ago as well) is that no matter WHAT they are still going to happen
read/watch even a bit of that manifesto the shooter today posted and you’ll see what I mean - that was a SICK person
English

@Sasquxtch the ocean isn't why shootings are rarer, it's their laws. even with us brodering mexico similar laws would make it harder (smuggling is harder than buying a gun), making them less accessible for someone to do a shooting, making shootings less likely. that's my whole point?
English

@Venitt_ what do Australia and New Zealand have in common? a literal full blown ocean separating them from their neighbors - they have a LOT more control as to what goes in within their borders than us
the shooter today had an AR, shotgun, AND pistol…how would it have been preventable?
English

@Sasquxtch again, never said ban all guns. let's not live in fantasyland and look at real life where countries like australia and new zealand actually passed reforms and mass shootings drop drastically. that's their reality. ours is accepting them as normal and not changing anything
English

@Sasquxtch Also, I think you're forgetting the point, common sense laws reduce the occurence of bad things happening, not fully preventing them. ARe you not for reducing mass shootings from happening as much as possible?
English

@Sasquxtch Respectufully that's terrible logic. It's like saying why have laws at all if bad things will never be fully preventable. Also, never said ban all guns. Other countries passed reforms and what do you know mass shootings drop drastically. US is the only place this happens often
