Hasan addresses backlash surrounding the Kneecap performance, reveals he didn’t attend bc he was busy spending every moment interviewing Cubans to investigate how the blockade has affected them Says he only went to a couple of bars “Spent every moment that I had conducting interviews..didn’t participate in any of the stuff really that Progressive International was doing..even tho I love those guys and they do great work..talking to regular Cubans..to ppl doing incredible work..and investigating how this complex system of restrictions has actually harmed Cuban production” “Kneecap participated in one of the many daily festivals..that festival..had Cuban musicians..it was free for all Cubans to attend..and overwhelmingly Cubans that were there..so cynical, so gross..that they think that regular Cubans don’t want to experience joy..having a great time on a free concert..this is Kneecap participating in a public free concert put together for Cuban artists..and they were like oh we’re here, let’s do it” “I went to just a couple of different bars..the first night I went to a bar w the Kneecap boys which was awesome..we just dumped a lot of cash to the best of our ability on everyday Cubans..it was much better to go to regular bars and restaurants”
