🚨 Lebanon’s president has told the Islamic Republic to stay out of Lebanon’s affairs. In one of the most direct public attacks on Iranian influence, President Joseph Aoun accused the Islamic Republic of using Lebanon as a bargaining chip, sacrificing Lebanese lives and destruction for its own geopolitical agenda. “It’s not your country, it is our country.” For decades, the Islamic Republic has used Hezbollah to dominate Lebanese politics, drag Lebanon into wars, and turn the country into a frontline for conflicts that serve Tehran’s interests rather than Lebanon’s. Now, as Lebanon’s president publicly denounces Iranian interference, the Islamic Republic is simultaneously tying negotiations and diplomatic agreements to demands involving Lebanon and Hezbollah. The pattern is unmistakable. The regime continues to link the fate of more than 90 million Iranians to conflicts, militias, and political objectives outside Iran’s borders, while leaders across the region increasingly push back against its interference. Aoun’s message was blunt: Lebanon is not the Islamic Republic’s colony. It is not its proxy. It is not its bargaining chip.
