After investing millions into the Paramount Fine Foods Centre during our partnership with the City of Mississauga over the past many years, I was very disappointed to see the City's misleading public statement this morning about the end of that partnership. Since buying back control of Paramount last year, I have dedicated myself to ensuring that all of its partners, associates, and suppliers were made whole if anything was owing to them from my time as a minority shareholder. This was especially the case with the City of Mississauga, who we have been ready and willing to pay for over six months. Our team has been diligently and cooperatively working with staff at the City for many months to finalize a mutually beneficial end to the partnership that ensure the citizens of Mississauga are protected and will not bear any burden in connection to Paramount. Those teams have been doing a tremendous job and I am hopeful their efforts are not wasted by the inexplicable decision of City management to announce, without notice and in the middle of negotiations, a one-sided and misrepresentative version of the partnership's ending, several days prior to its end. This raises serious questions about City management's motivations. This was not the actions of a party acting in good faith.
