@EMUNOPLA It's funny how this is about the anime "looking old" and not about fixing the god awful pacing of the latter half of it. Granted I know Wit probably doesn't want to make big promises, but seriously the biggest barrier to get people into One Piece is the length/pacing.

👀🚨From Internal sources: 🟠Wit Studio never intended to remake the entirety of One Piece. The project’s scope has reportedly always been limited rather than a full-series reboot. 🟠Sources indicate that the remake is primarily focused on revisiting the early era of the original anime — specifically the classic 4:3 aspect ratio period — with a modern production approach. 🟠Additionally, it has been suggested that Wit Studio plans to reuse the current voice cast, which would make a full remake of the entire series impractical due to long-term production constraints. 🟠Notably, Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy’s voice actress) reportedly requested that the studio find a replacement for her role. This request came after she initially believed the project would cover the entire story. However, she was later informed that the plan is to adapt the story only up to the classic 4:3 ( This could mean until the end of Jaya Arc ). 🟠Overall, the remake appears to be a targeted reimagining of the early arcs, rather than a complete retelling of the full One Piece saga.

@MKFenris @YellowFlashGuy Honestly it's more a problem of the seasons being 8 episodes than anything. Forces them to have to cut out a lot of things, and rework the scenes they keep. Which leads to some pretty disappointing moments.

@ryuseihashida This is not the official anime slide. It's just concept art, Wit studio (the ones handling this remake) haven't release a trailer for it yet. So expect sometime in late 2027.

You can’t skip Skypea. It’s a very important arc. It introduces Haki, Poneglyth lore, Roger stuff, void century connections, logia potential, and so much foreshadowing.

@Tsuki_no_Hajime @YellowFlashGuy So apparently some of the stuff grew up watching the OG anime. So I'm sure there will be some of it that stays the same. However I'm most excited to see how they do the arcs after. Also they are using 3d town models for some insane perspective action shots.
