@Lunaticpilled @OutletInlet @Animuwrangel Nothing recent. He still owns 4chan and lives in Paris, presumably because of all of the legal and financial disputes he faced in Japan (He was a principled guy who refused to pay a single yen in damages despite losing dozens of civil judgements in libel/defamation lawsuits)

2ch and 4chan founders were 'Based Retard Libertarians' of the ilk that no longer really exists online. 4chan was a derivative of 2ch, which was downstream of old mIRC chatrooms that continued to exist alongside that platform Moot (4chan) was a sexual deviant and the 2ch founder

@geomaxxednomad 'based retard internet libertarians' from the Ron Paul era don't really exist anymore. I think you could argue that whistleblowers like Snowden/Assange were 'based retard libertarians' and maybe make an argument that tech billionaire libertarians like Musk/Theil are close to it.

@OutletInlet @Animuwrangel They were the most indicative of where Moot stood politically: non-partisan 'internet libertarian' who adamantly believed in free speech and an uncensored internet. It also demonstrated that he was a very intelligent guy.

@OutletInlet @Animuwrangel Moot is a smart guy. He testified before congress in a hearing regarding online anonymity and illegal content Very non-partisan, he essentially argued that anonymity is a core value of the Internet, and absence of identity does not imply the absence of accountability.

@VeryGreatMathew @Animuwrangel Ah yes, I had forgotten about Hotwheels (and his recent passing). What a shame! Yeah, if moot has remained the same, then he really came out of this mostly unscathed. Good for him!

@OutletInlet @Animuwrangel Hotwheels (8chan founder, former wizchan owner, disgusting freak) became a noxious repulsive shitlib despite formerly writing for a white supremacist website Hiroyuki (2ch, now 4chan) is still a based retard libertarian Moot's political leaning is still 'internet libertarian'

@OutletInlet @Animuwrangel Rumor has it that he is happier now than he was when he was when he had financial problems and was facing endless libel/defamation lawsuits and legal pressure But I don't think anyone really knows- he was never a very public person. He passed the torch to the best man possible.

@OutletInlet @Animuwrangel Moot cashed out Hiroyuki is still doing his thing (probably can't ever return to Japan lol) And the 8chan founder and 8chan owner were freaks that were doomed to fail anyways

When I say 'Moot was a sexual deviant' I don't mean that the guy was a pedophile I mean that he was the type of guy that would have trooned out if he arrived 10 years earlier and the only thing that kept him from relinquishing his domain was the fact that it was mildly profitable

@SexySchitzo Moot never had anything going for him outside of 4chan and by the end he hated his community/moderators but the platform was mildly profitable Can't blame the guy for selling his platform and getting in at Google/Meta

I should clarify that when I say '8chan founder' I do not mean hotwheels (disgusting creature/former wizchan owner) I mean 'the guy that stole 2ch and tried to kill hotwheels after seizing 8chan from him' (everyone in this story is a demonic creature)

Hiroyuki doesn't own 2ch anymore, the domain was seized from him by the 8chan founder. Moot doesn't own 4chan anymore- Hiroyuki owns 4chan. Hiroyuki avoids legal problems by living in Paris, but 4chan is so pozzed up now that it has very little cultural impact anyways.

When pressuring advertisers & threatening lawsuits wasn't enough to sink either platform they both got hit with a slew a libel/defamation lawsuits (which they lost) and that created much more severe financial problems that caused Moot to cave and Hiroyuki to get his domain seized

was a 'based retard' who strongly adhered to his principles despite numerous legal problems and a hostile court system Both platforms became very popular, and they both had the same problem: Money Advertisers wouldn't touch 2ch or 4chan but they found ways to mitigate this
