@MargTokar @sytsema_andy I'd be willing to bet it's also one of the top causes of premature death in the US. People not going to hospital because they're afraid of the bills, so they wait until they're so sick that they can't be helped.

Note to Albertans: The number 1 reason for bankruptcies in the U.S. is medical bills. Fact.

@DrDoyleSays Don't forget doctors. Mine's a mix of bullies, the school that gave them permission to continue to harm me, a place I volunteered at, a physician who told me I should kill myself & another who lied, some issues with clergy who are initially supportive and then turned, and more.

Complex PTSD is not only the result of abusive parents or families. Pain inflicted by coaches, teachers, clergy, or institutions can absolutely be as pervasive & destructive as damage inflicted by relatives.
