Oh, this is pretty huge. They're going to be updating the FFXI free trial to have no time restriction like XIV, playable up to 75 indefinitely.

@kvetanuki It's absolutely 100% better than their previous trial, and while I think it'd be smart to maybe include like RoZ and CoP to let people dig in a little, the 3 base nation storylines are solid and worth experiencing, so there's plenty of content to chew through.

@Very_Merri people like "eh with no expansion...." brother its so you can TRY the game. hell the ultimate edition is $10 right now for everything and you get two months free on top of the trial

I don't think they confirmed a date for when this goes live, btw. Probably sooner rather than later with the anniversary going on, but I'd just keep an eye out of you're interested! XI is an awesome game, and I'd love to see more people check it out.

@Deneytra Unfortunately, yeah. Better than what it was before, but hopefully they take a bigger page out of XIV's book.

@mustachedave Only base game jobs if they don't change their tune on expansion access, so WAR, MNK, WHM, BLM, RDM, THF, PLD, DRK, BST, BRD, RNG, and SMN will be available as of now.

@Very_Merri Can you level up all jobs to 75?

@kawaiiempoleon They said just base game, but hopefully they change their tune and add in a few of the earlier ones. Base will include the three nation storylines (most of which are pretty great, honestly) so there's still a fair amount to play through and see if you vibe with the game

@BakedWeeb The latest freshly picked dev stream from earlier today! No announcement of when it will be going live, though. Probably between now and some time in the summer, if I had to guess.

@Mrhappy1227 I was just talking to some friends about this. Seems like such an easy win to hook people in by letting them experience at least RoZ and CoP, maybe ToAU. Especially with the XIV alliance raids. Bit of a fumble, but at least no time restrictions + 75 cap beats 14 days and level 50

@Very_Merri Think they should add CoP up to 2-1 and Treasures up to like 7-8 but otherwise solid
