When it comes to pairing, I like mixing and matching, especially if the characters are similar, could be in personality, occupation, past, etc. For example two Masked, speared, generals of a nation who're tied to being a deity and possession. Two nerdy scientists specializing in their own fields. Two smartasses whos jobs are linked to investigation. Etc etc Sometimes it could just be because their colors match really well, I also like the light x dark hair trope. So honestly there could many reasons- And then there's kaveh...tired of babysitting everyone's kids, he's the wine aunt
