@jayblackisfunny @elonmusk There is an undeniable trend that denser cities tend to vote blue. I don't get the point that's being made here other than that rural areas tend to vote republican, which is an objective fact.

@LinusTech This is atrocious. The only reason I still pay for Prime is for Prime Video and free shipping, even though Prime shipping takes 1.5 weeks to get here at a minimum, and more often takes around 3 weeks. The one redeeming trait was Prime Video and now even that's going downhill.

@DrChrisCombs There is a legitimate reason for using that notation, though. If you were to input this expression into a program like Matlab or Octave, you would write 60/5*(7-4), and you need to know how that will come out. In this case, the answer is 36 because that's how PEMDAS works.

Chris Combs (iterative design enjoyer)
The issue is that the equation lacks context and is ill-posed One could reasonably argue this is: (60/5)*(7-4) -or- 60 / [5*(7-4)] Fault lies with whoever wrote the equation for not making it clear
Loberd@Loberd3

@DrChrisCombs Ok this just hit me. In PEMDAS E is for exponent right? And X/Y=XY^-1 right? So you can convert division to exponent…couldn’t you just change them to get a different answer? Or has my math brain completely atrophied

@diwankar_g @linux_deepin And trust me, Microsoft LOVES people like you. There aren't many things in life that generate money for free but selling consumer data collected on a machine they bought is one of those things.

@ctjlewis The great depression was a period of heavily decreased buying power. The post just points out that you'd have to work just under and hour at the federal minimum wage to afford a large fry at a restaurant known for being the most affordable.

the experts want you to know that the Great Depression was a deflationary event where prices went down (not up), and jokes about this subject matter will not be tolerated. thank you.

@engineers_feed The answer is (B). The reason is that the truck is "driving", not accelerating. If it was accelerating the answer is C. If Decelerating the answer is A. But because the truck is driving, the water's speed has matched the truck and thus it levels out.

@PicturesFoIder Headlight brightness is absolutely regulated. In fact, there are strict requirements for how bright your headlights can be and at what angles they can shine at.

@daboigbae There are definitely specialties that are rare for programming but being able to write code is a dime-a-dozen skill that's practically meaningless these days. Basic level coding isn't that hard.

@daboigbae Asking whether you use switch or if-else statements is like asking whether you travel by car or by plane; it completely depends on the situation.

Dihydrogen monoxide is an acid with a pH level of 7, that’s a higher pH level than any other acid! Can be deadly.

@linuxopsys Sadly I think dual booting is still a necessary evil, even with today's technology. Even though we have things like Proton to aid in game compatibility and wine for other applications, some stuff just refuses to work on Linux regardless and thus requires a Windows installation
