The VIA Arts Prize is the UK’s only Ibero-American-themed arts prize. Artists of any nationality residing in the UK are invited to submit an original artwork specifically inspired by Ibero-American arts and culture.

We are delighted to announce that emerging Venezuelan artist José García Oliva has been chosen by the public as the winner of the VIA Arts Prize 2019 People’s Choice Award with his mixed media assemblage ‘Parallel’, touching on emigration and the Venezuelan exodus.

Today is your last chance to see the VIA Arts Prize 2019 exhibition closing at 6pm this evening. See the 30 shortlisted artworks inspired by Latin American and Iberian arts and cultures at the Embassy of Brazil.

‘Xama: Internet at your fingertips!’ by Teresa Ribeiro Boulting is one of this year’s shortlisted artworks.

An exhibition of work from this year’s 30 VIA Arts Prize finalists including a poignant photography series 65+ documenting the ageing population in Portugal by Sara Lopes is on view at the Embassy of Brazil until tomorrow (10am-6pm).
