@AugustRamone It’s still hot potatoing. His reign was under a month and a half. AEW only had Darby defend it so often because they knew he wasn’t going to hold it for long. Getting the most out of his reign while they could.

@VicNeumann1 Changing titles after 8 defenses, all of which are 4-5 stars is the opposite of hot potatoing dipshit

So, MJF won the AEW World Title back after losing it to Darby Allin just over a month ago. If the plan was to have MJF walk into All In as champion, why bother putting it on Darby in the first place? For the record, that’s now 5 title changes over the last 10 months. (1/3)

@SteelOrioles You clearly didn’t read the third part of the post, where I said not everyone has to have a 200+ day reign with it like modern-day WWE. It’s not black and white. There is a spot between flip flopping the title every two months and WWE’s near year-long reigns.

I’m not saying everyone has to have a 200+ day reign with minimal defences, which has become the standard in modern WWE. If you want me to care, though, I also don’t want to see it flip flop every two months like we’re currently seeing in AEW. It devalues your top prize. (3/3)

We’re approaching 1999 WWF Chanpionship levels of hot potatoing, with 11 changes and a vacancy within a calendar year. A world title should never change hands that often. It loses any sort of prestige if you can’t remember who has the title at any given moment. (2/3)

P.S. Mick Foley’s last great match was WrestleMania 22 against Edge. That was in 2006. 20 years ago. It’s time to move on. Yes, I know he had a TNA run after that. Even as their world champion, none of it came even close. As an in-ring performer, he has nothing left to give.

WWE’s roster is too old, but is AEW any better? By the end of this year, The Hurt Syndicate will be 50-53, Cage and Cope will be 53, Samoa Joe will be 47, Chris Jericho will be 56, Lance Archer will be 49, Dustin Rhodes will be 57, and Billy Gunn will be 63. Need I go on? (2/2)

Isn’t it funny how the same people who complain about WWE’s roster being too old are now fantasy booking matches for a nearly-61 year old Mick Foley in AEW? R-Truth is the oldest wrestler currently in WWE and , at 54, he’s 7 years younger than Mick. (1/2)

@CG713ACE Yep. She and Ronda were laughing all the way to the bank for only doing 17 seconds of work.

Wrestling didn't give Ronda Rousey the ego boost she wanted after losing her last 2 UFC fights, so she had to script an MMA win. Full mount into tapping Gina out in 17 secs with an armbar was too on the nose. If you're scripting a fight, try and make it a bit less conspicuous.

No one is saying WWE has to be on the road for 300 days a year, like they used to be, but having house shows semi-regularly would be in everyone’s best interests Plus, if the amount of WWE shows goes back up, ticket prices will eventually go down. More supply, same demand. (4/4)

The setting is more intimate, and you get to see the same wrestlers for a fraction of the price as TV. Plus, some cities are too small to host a Raw, SmackDown, SNME, or PPV. House shows may be the only chance fans in those markets have of seeing a WWE show. (3/4)

Good. WWE house shows need to be a regular thing again, for multiple reasons Wrestlers can get their reps in, which will tighten up the televised product. It helps them develop chemistry with each other in-ring. You can see what works and what doesn’t without affecting TV. (1/3)

WWE's announcement of ten house shows over the summer is due to them feeling that the younger wrestlers on the roster need to get more experience away from TV. (Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter)

Does anyone even care anymore? How many times have they teed the ROH Women’s World Title up for Billie Starkz over the last few years, only to have Athena retain every single time? Whenever they do finally pull the trigger on Billie, it’ll be too little, too late.

The wrestling business will never unionize. The wrestlers on top will never allow it, like Hulk Hogan blocked Jesse Ventura’s attempts to unionize decades ago. If you can’t accept that, maybe watching wrestling just isn’t for you. (4/4)

Say goodbye to Darby Allin throwing himself around like a human cannonball, overly bloody Texas Deathmatches, moves that make contact with the head/neck area, dives from the tops of cages, etc It’s all fun and games until WrestleMania/All In gets postponed due to a strike. (3/4)

Here we go again. Time for the annual “WWE needs to unionize” conversation. Give it up. It’s just not going to happen in an ego-driven business. Fans are upset TKO are releasing wrestlers and slashing pay now, but they’ll move on to something else in a week or two tops. (1/4)
Vic Neumann@VicNeumann1

Are we really about to have another "WWE needs to unionize" conversation? Do we not do this every year? Surely, every 6 months. We go on for a few days about how weird it is that WWE classifies its wrestlers as independent contractors and makes them pay their own way. (1/3)

P.S. How many people have The Hurt Syndicate help get over in AEW? They beat younger teams like The Acclaimed and Top Flight, took the titles off Private Party, and lost the titles after over 200 days as champions without taking the pin.

It’s 2026. Time to let it go and move on. WWE clearly has. Show them they made a mistake letting your contract expire Unfortunately, considering you’re just rehashing a WWE storyline from 6 years ago in AEW, maybe it wasn’t such a mistake and you have nothing new to offer. (3/3)
