@VicVan63 @Griezmenace No, it has better RCS than any 4.5 gen except KF-21 I believe. The intake seems to be slightly curved, but the fanblades are visible. Don't know how much these blockers help, but it sure has less RCS than a 4.5th gen.

It is better not to have a stealth jet if we are going for the Su-57. HAL is imposing the Su-57 on the Indian Air Force, even though the Indian Air Force is not interested in it.

#WATCH | Delhi: On the status of partnership between HAL and the Russian side for Su-57, HAL CMD Chairman Dr DK Sunil says, "I think presentations have been made regarding the Su-57 to the Air Force team by the Russian team regarding capabilities of the aircraft. We have had one estimation of the capacity of our Plants for the Russian equipment. A committee of Russians has also studied and said that roughly 50% of the facilities can be used for producing this aircraft but some new investments will be required. We are awaiting the Russian quotation about the investment. Then we will approach the Air Force that these are the kind of numbers required to produce these aircraft and these are the timelines..."

Big development: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited imposes liquidated damages on GE Aerospace for delays in F404 engine deliveries… accountability finally kicking in.

HAL says that it has imposed Liquidated Damages on GE Aviation for delay in deliveries of F 404 engines for the Light Combat Aircraft. Penalties being imposed on each delayed engine bring delivered.

@Kaafir25473682 Also Mk1 is as good or slightly better than vanila M2K apart from the range and payload. It cld have been upgraded to Alphas if ordered in numbers. So its not exactly a compormise though many veterans make us believe so.

@mountain_rats IAF due to its love for Rafale ( like laila majnu) jeopardized nations defence prepardness. Bcse they thought Rafale will never get prioritized , they never ordered Tejas Mk1s, never upgraded Su30s and never shown any interest in Orca. And Rafale doesnt even have a proper Radar.

@Kaafir25473682 Sir airforce doesnt have numbers. 150 Rafales doesnt stand a chance in front of 100s of chinese 5th gens produced per year. They have GaN almost twice size of Rafale GaAs. Now no money for more fighters bcse of Rafales. Rafales dont come bfre 2032. No SUs upgraded. No engine.

@SurajRai0889 @sneheshphilip Agree IAF is pretty myopic. They dont realise the importance of Kaveri. For them all they want is 150 Rafales. Just fly. But see how navy aporoaches the engine problem that too on a mission mode. IAF needs capabilities that starts and ends in Rafale. Totally agree.

@VicVan63 @sneheshphilip It's not the user's job to protest. Where do you think a User/customer protests? IAF asked for capabilities, how and from where to source it or build inhouse, it's the seller's job to build and deliver the capabilities.

@VicVan63 @mountain_rats HAL makes EL/M-2052 here. When order of 83 Mk1As were given, Uttam & SRK weren't ready. Now they are. So this is the time to integrate them. But that money will go to other companies which HAL doesn't want so they're going ahead with 2052 for 83.

@DOCTUSHAR1905 @mountain_rats I feel Orca with twin Kaveri engine was a miss that is beyond crminal. We ckd have started small, perfected our engines. Reduced GE dependancy. Now fall on uncles feet to get Tejas running. Wish people in MOD and IAF had shown some foresight.

A total of 874 MiG 21s ( all variants ) served with HAL between 1963 to 2025.
Out of this HAL assembled 77and manufactured 579 a total of 657.
Technically speaking these 657 jets were IMPORTED by a Corporate Company and sold to the captive Consumer (IAF) at huge profit( yearly financial result will show the exact profit ).
Similarly is the story of 120 Jaguars , 165 MiG27s and 222 Sukhois assembled / manufactured .
When compared to the Defence Shipyards HAL comes out as a company with monopolistic attitude fit for carrying out "screwgiri " only on things IMPORTED .
The Consumer then started questioning the quality of work , poor maint , price tags , delivery schedule etc .

@RealAirPower1 Middle tier powers operating Rafael is ok. But a country like India which has good global standing should operate fighters like EF which has good radar and sensor suit. Rafale feels so so uderwhelming.

My extraordinary knowledge of science declares this as untrue: 12 Engines cannot come together in one shipment because magnetic resonance between engines causes severe destructive vibrations. That is why no aircraft can have more than 7-8 engines max.

@alpha_defense April fool? Anyways Rafale deal is all about fooling Indians into buying the Super duper Rafale at exhorbitant price. But yes looking at its price, Rafale is so advanced that we are yet to determine which generation it belongs 😉
