At a middle school basketball game in Southwest Virginia the opposing team showed up to their opponent’s Gym and waved Confederate flags while yelling racial slurs. The home team has mostly black players on it. Remember these are just middle schoolers doing this crap!

By coating thread with beetroot extract, a natural pH indicator, the sutures shift from bright red to dark purple as bacteria raise the wound’s pH levels. She designed the innovation to be low-cost and accessible for hospitals in developing countries that lack advanced monitoring tools. Taylor was named a Top 40 finalist in the Regeneron Science Talent Search, received the Seaborg Award, and has since filed for a patent.

When my father spoke out against the war in Vietnam, he did so not because it was popular, but because his conscience would not allow him to remain silent. He called on this nation to choose a different path, to withdraw from violence, and to reclaim its moral authority in the world. He understood that war does not strengthen a nation’s soul. The Strait of Hormuz just closed again today, and the press are demanding answers on behalf of the American people. Trump kicks them out of the Oval Office. Shameful.

Barbara Flynn Currie was a trailblazer, becoming the first female majority leader in the history of the Illinois House. But as the veteran representative when I was a state senator, she was also a great partner — smart, independent and pragmatic, showing all of us that it was possible to operate with integrity in politics and still be effective. Michelle and I are thinking of her family today, and everyone who benefitted from her extraordinary life of service.

The number of deaths in ICE detention centers this year is already greater than the number of deaths in the entirety of 2024. The Trump Administration’s negligence is killing people. There is no excuse for this many deaths under their watch.

Trump chases press out of the Oval Office to hide his nervousness when CBS reporter Olivia Rinaldo asked a question about the Strait of Hormuz. Olivia Rinaldi: “Mr. President, a question on Iran. Iranian gunboats fired upon two vessels today. President Macron said that ….” Trump: “Out. Thank you very much everybody. Thank you.” Trump is over here playing miracle doctor in the Oval Office, signing some 'breakthrough' drug order to distract from the fact that his Middle East strategy is a total dumpster fire. You can see it all over his face. He is completely rattled. He’s itching for a fight with Iran, but now that they’re actually shooting back in the Strait of Hormuz, he looks like he's about to jump out of his skin. He couldn't even look the reporter in the eye before barking at everyone to get out.
