I am totally horrified that because he chose to come 3 and a half hours early I didn’t get my shopping. If the driver was ill or there was an emergency, the manager should have got my shopping to me with another driver or in a taxi.

So I called your helpline, I was horrified and disgusted to find out that my delivery wouldn’t be coming. Because the driver had turned up 3 and a half hours before my booked slot I had lost my delivery. I was told that I could go to the store to pick it up

@sainsburys Order ref 1249578005 At 2.30 on Friday, yes it’s not a typo but 2.30, 3 and a half hours before my delivery slot the driver tried calling on my intercom, leaving 5 messages. I was unable to pick up the calls as I was teaching a class of 5 and 6 year olds.

@bridgegaplarge @Blond3bra1ny @Janroweljmu They were intent that dad should go home even though mum was seriously ill and couldn’t care for him. Dad was running away all the time. At one point I said that if dad was self funding he would be able to go into a home, all the drs agreed apart from SW.

Someone please explain. Care home costs are eye watering. Care home staff are very low paid. Where is all the money going?

@bridgegaplarge @Blond3bra1ny @Janroweljmu Me too! It took a 6 month battle with SS and us having to say that we couldn’t have dad at home. Then 2 places offered; 1 miles away who I later found out would have only kept dad for 6 weeks and the other 1 I was physically sick when I came out. It’s not easy when you rely on ss

@Blond3bra1ny @Janroweljmu Dad also worked all his life and was still working 7 days a week when diagnosed with dementia at 80.

@Blond3bra1ny @Janroweljmu Not true for every home. Dads home in London charge £1400 week dementia care. Council pay £1300 (no discount), dad pays £830 monthly from his state pension and I pay £100 per week. Only place I wasn’t physically sick at with spaces. Luckily the staff are wonderful

@Keir_Starmer Not for me. Been waiting since 17th February. Got referred under 2 week wait, was seen that week. After 2 attempts to get biopsy 3 weeks apart, I’m waiting on more tests and drs appointments but weeks away. I’m told that they are concerned it is cancer. Waiting is awful

@BBCPolitics What if you struggle everyday to get up and go to work and achieve that most of the time but work don’t understand the real issues with mental health? Work policies mean even 8 days off in a year over 2 periods places you on an absence warning. Got to solve the whole problem.

@SkyNews @BethRigby Cannot believe @BethRigby asking Zelenskyy if he will apologise to Trump. After the welcome he received from us yesterday this has played right into Trumps hands. Why should he apologise?

@Shrink_at_Large Problem, if you are in work, have even 6 days off over 2 times then you get an absence warning, first step of sacking you. If someone is suffering long term illness how will they work in that system. If people are too sick to work they should be supported

TW: Benefits Typo here - it should read: Millions spend five years on waiting lists for decent housing, physical and mental healthcare. With each passing year, their chances of entrenched disability increase, making disability benefits more essential-not less.

@Keir_Starmer I brought a beautiful shared ownership flat 11 years ago. Now, with the continuously rising costs of bills, mortgage, rent, service charges and being single, I really don’t know how long I can afford it. May have to move back with my mum.

For my family growing up, the roof over our heads was everything. But for so many families today, homeownership is a distant dream. My government will make it a reality once again. We are sweeping aside the blockers to pave the way for the next generation of new towns.

@jim_crawfurd This is my parents local hospital. That corridor is chaos with patients being treated there and used for ambulance admissions. Doesn’t show the numerous rooms or hell of the waiting room. Problem is all a&e’s around were closed so everyone is forced there.

A London A&E department celebrating the very rare event of not having patients on trolleys in a f***ing corridor. That’s what 14yrs of the Tories has done to the NHS. It’s going to be a long journey back, but I hope it’s starting soon…

@DawnButlerBrent @CADBrent CADBrent are absolutely amazing. My family would not have survived without them. From activities, dementia cafes, carers groups to navigating the broken support system. They always go above and beyond to help families and are a shining light in the darkness of dementia

@MartinSLewis Caring for someone has a huge impact on life. I’ve been trying to stay in my job and care for my elderly parents, one with dementia by myself. £80 per week is not enough to live on, work not entitled to paid carers leave. It’s a struggle to survive , not knowing which way to turn

Govt's just put out its #CarersAllowance consultation remit. Its worthy aim's to examine how to stop the overpayment crisis that's left 100,000+ unwittingly owing State money (due to crap systems). Yet my concern is it mightn't address the big issue ie the hideous cliff-edge! Carers allowance providers those on low income who care £82 a week income, but you can only get it if you earn under £151/wk. Go 1p over that limit and you lose it all. That is perverse. Other benefits don't work that way - they're tapered. And this is the clear cause of the problem (I've written to the Chancellor about it before) Overpayments happen because many carers are stressed overworked vulnerable people, if they get a slight pay uplift (eg min wage rise) and don't notice, the benefits office keeps paying them. So they could've earned 1p a week over for 10 weeks, then be asked to pay an unaffordable £820 back. I have put a question in to the consultation body to double-check that they are able to examine this, and hope they are, if not the whole thing would feel farcical. I will keep you up to date.

@Mikeo56977865 Social Services are absolutely useless. They leave you until you are in total crisis and then you have to fight and battle for what you need. I hope that you get contact this week

When the Carer becomes the one in need of care As many of you may already know, last week I had a bad fall that required a short stay in hospital to repair a fractured humerus and dislocated shoulder. I can’t fault the hospital staff at all as every single one of them was fabulous, from the porter who took me up to the ward right through to the surgical team who repaired the damage. However, once home after the surgery it became a different story. I reached out to social services on the Tuesday, explained the situation and asked for support. Well, dear reader, as I’m sure you can imagine, no support was forthcoming and I’m still waiting on a call from the duty social worker which will very likely come once the support is no longer needed. So, I hear you ask, what happened next? We relied on the support of neighbours for a few days while I recovered to a point where I wasn’t in absolute agony every time I moved and then between my parents and I we worked up a plan where we can support each other until I’m fully recovered. Local authorities and carers support services really do need to start building contingency plans into any care/carer support plan so then when accidents happen the contingency plan can be quickly activated instead of leaving families to struggle with no support.

@savororaidh I’m at the other end with my dad who has dementia. Our LA SS have let us down profoundly and continue to do so. Begging for help but keep getting turned down. Had to fight tooth and nail and still not getting care or support from them. It’s what they want not what is needed
