Last week, the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland hosted our conference: Ending Racism. Advancing Equality – What needs to change? Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussions throughout the day. The conference explored the challenges facing Northern Ireland in relation to racism and racial inequality, alongside the actions needed across government, public services, workplaces, education and communities to help address them. We heard from speakers representing community, public sector, political and lived experience perspectives. Thank you to all of our speakers and contributors, including representatives from @Economy_NI , @PoliceServiceNI , @AmnestyNI , @ExecOfficeNI, @InfoAcsoni, @BritishRedCross, North West Migrants Forum, @DiverseNi, Malone Integrated College and many others. The conference also marked the launch of our race equality recommendations: equalityni.org/our-work/polic… We look forward to continuing engagement with stakeholders on the actions needed to advance racial equality in Northern Ireland. #EndingRacismAdvancingEquality

If you have a concern about an individual, then you should contact the PSNI about their Domestic Violence and Abuse Disclosure Scheme. It empowers potential victims of domestic abuse or their friends and family with the right to ask about the new partner. bit.ly/4dvjDuq

Last night’s BBC Probation documentary featuring Carl Frampton showed probation staff in action. Safeguarding measures supported an individual with a history of harmful behaviour to make positive progress as he prepares to become a father again.

Gift cards are a common payment method preferred by scammers. If you get a message out of the blue asking you to buy a gift card for someone, or are asked to make payment for something in gift cards, it could be a scam! See more advice from WhichUK here: bit.ly/3R7jfuQ

Don’t let anyone blackmail you over nudes. Take control: don’t pay, block them, and tell someone you trust. You don’t have to cope with it alone. psni.police.uk/safety-and-sup…

With AI now able to create completely fake images of people, we will likely see a rise in cases of sextortion, where scammers threaten to release intimate images of a person if they don't pay up. If your image is being used for criminal ends, we can provide support and advice.

Did you know that we manage a Remote Evidence Centre in Derry? The ex Recorder of Londonderry, Judge Rafferty, had some very nice things to say about why remote evidence centres are important in securing witness' best evidence. Watch our video tour: bit.ly/4nmLh1v

We are incredibly proud of our Chief Executive, Janice Bunting, who was awarded an MBE earlier this week for her outstanding service to victims and witnesses of crime. As we mark 45 years of Victim Support NI, it is also a moment to recognise the dedication and impact of our staff and volunteers, past and present, who make this work possible every day. #MBE #VictimSupport #Leadership #NorthernIreland #CommunityImpact #VictimSupportNI
