@SarahIronside6 it’s also the fact of without diversity quotas no companies or corporations have to hire anyone of any diversity including women. there’s no standing for you to say you were discriminated against in not being hired cuz a conpany can easily say you weren’t qualified evn if you are

I have a sincere question for women who voted for trump. I just want to know how you feel now that he is trying to make it legal for an employer to not hire you or fire for getting pregnant or simply being a woman?

@atiqah_aryani @moment_mirthful @PicturesFoIder 30 years ago you could make a living off $1100 it’s simply not possible now that’s why graduates are demanding $3500. rent in cheaper states is half that for a 1 bedroom apartment then factor in groceries and gas and insurance you are living paycheck to paycheck as a single adult

@Victoria_Reanne @moment_mirthful @PicturesFoIder 30yrs ago, graduates earned $1100 a month, now they are demanding $3500 a month. I’m earning just above $4k a month. I busted my ass raising a family, no complaints & I raised my children to bust their ass if they want nice clothes, holidays, a home etc. /1

@Theresa93773825 standing up tall in my generation means not wanting to work like a dog to still not have things and because of the economy that has been handed down to us we have to work just as hard as you did to not be able to afford a house of our own like you were able to

@Victoria_Reanne Your generation?? I had a generation too. It was born in the Eisenhower years. If you are sick and tired, imagine what that generation came home to. Pick up your boot straps, stand up tall and do what your typed words on X mean besides being sick and tired.

@Theresa93773825 you were born nearly 50 years before i was… picking up your boot straps now means going into debt for schooling you need to be able to make a living. making a living means working a job you hate for years that doesn’t pay enough to live and being told your lazy for it

@Theresa93773825 the whole thread is about the divide between generations (as stated in the beginning) why is so easy to assume my generation doesn’t have accountability, personal growth, etc. that was the whole point. past generations do not understand what we go through and still have opinions

@Victoria_Reanne Who mentioned generations? I think it was you. Putting aside all age differences, I believe accountability, personal growth, the ability to learn from what has gone before us is what will strengthen us. You and me. What I experienced is no less than what you are experiencing.

@Theresa93773825 and please do not patronize me. we are living in 2 completely different worlds because of how much things have changed from generation to generation so do not “sweet dreams” me as if you’ve ever had to experience what i’m experiencing

@Victoria_Reanne Go to bed, Victoria. You sound tired. No one got free educations in the dark ages either. Difference is we paid off our loans. Sweet dreams.

@Theresa93773825 nothing costs nearly as much as it did when you were going to school. i’m 40k in debt and haven’t even finished my undergrad. by the time i finish my masters i will be nearly 100k in debt and won’t be making nearly enough to pay it for another decade.

@Theresa93773825 i was ranting. the textbook definition of ranting is a loud angry and impassioned speech. i was angry and impassioned about the topic and wrote what is equivalent to a speech through social media. and that’s to the first amendment i have every right to do so on MY page

@Victoria_Reanne Who is ranting? Hear this concept…having opposing thoughts, opinions and reactions doesn’t have to be considered a rant, it’s called having opposing views.

@Theresa93773825 @moment_mirthful @PicturesFoIder i understand everyone has had to struggle. the problem is our parents and educators have engrained that going to college would mean we would would have better. so it feels like we’ve done everything right and still are not achieving things we were told we would all our lives

@Victoria_Reanne @moment_mirthful @PicturesFoIder And I laugh out loud that your response was about her struggling Guess what. That is called life. Who exempts her from ‘struggling’?? When I was ‘struggling’ and had my water cut off as a new college grad I sure didn’t scream to the universe it was someone else’s fault.
