I am so jealous of Iran's political leadership. Educated, courageous people. Zero self-praise, zero melodrama. Efficient in a crisis and holy fuck, their defense of their country against such odds. Eye-opening how much a govt that puts country first can achieve. Inspiring.

@Vidyut I am not a fan of theocracy or policies of Iranian regieme,still I would say that ancient Iranian pride coupled with Islam's philosophy of martyrdom (whose living example is sacrifice of HussainRA) Iranians have proved they are worthy heirs to da profound glory of Islamic faith.

I can't make out head or tail of what these people think, why, who it benefits and how it connects to anything they've said so far. I'm just assuming the word salads add up to "we wanted to kill them and thought it would be easy and now we are talking ourselves out of a corner."

.@SecScottBessent: In the coming days, we may unsanction the Iranian oil that's on the water. It's about 140 million barrels, so depending how you count it, that's 10 days to 2 weeks of supply, that the Iranians had been pushing out, that would have all gone to China. In essence, we'd be using the Iranian barrels against the Iranians to keep the price down for the next 10 or 14 days, as we continue this campaign. So, we have lots of levers.

Female Iranian footballers who returned to Iran recall how Australian police were pressuring them to not leave for Iran.
She says:
"When they checked our passports, each of us went into a room with a police officer. At first, when they took my hand and led me away, I was a bit scared, but I told myself it’s okay.
Then we sat down; we went through a few doors, entered a room, and I sat. The security agent called someone on a phone, and I realized they wanted to ask us again: 'If you go back, it’s like this [dangerous]... your country is at war, etc.
They were asking a bunch of very strange questions, hoping I might say, 'No, I don't know. I am not sure of returning.’
They kept asking those same kinds of questions. He then asked me ‘Do you want to call your family? You can contact them right now to decide if you want to stay or not.' As soon as he said that, I told the lady (the translator), 'Tell him I don’t want to stay.
Anyone who wanted to stay has already stayed.' I didn’t even let him finish reading the rest of his questions; I just said: ‘I want to return to Iran.'
Right then, I got a bad feeling in my heart; I was a bit scared because I really wanted to go back to Iran—I wanted to go to my family, my homeland.”
