Visa, Mastercard and Ripple just joined the group governing Coinbase’s x402 payment standard. x402 lets AI agents make stablecoin payments directly, without opening an account or going through a checkout process. Around 75 million payments moved through the standard last month. AI agents paying each other with stablecoins is starting to look a lot less theoretical.

CPI came in softer. Now PPI did too. That gave BTC some room to push back toward $65K, and it could be enough to keep July green. But I’m still not reading this as the start of a clean move higher. Bitcoin is back near the same $65K–$67K area that has stopped every recent recovery. A little more upside wouldn’t surprise me. Neither would one final move lower in August or September before the bear market finds its bottom.
