Travel time Vehicle maintenance Equipment maintenance Video editing Running Social Media All things factored into full-time storm chasing. If I decided to go home right now, it would be an 18-20 hour drive. Okay I'm home now. Oh look, my taillight has been wonky. Well there goes an hour. Oh look, one of my cameras is acting weird. Well now I have to spend a day ripping my car apart for one wire. Oh look, a chase day coming up in two days. Here's another 18 hour travel day. Factor in all the real hours put into keeping the operation going and not just the chase itself. Knowing your worth is the key and will keep you from making poor decisions that will inevitably lead to failure.
