@VinceM1980 @han64compuserve @CynicalPublius The inflation and rising gas prices you're seeing now are also seen all over the world -but it is caused solely by the US/Israeli decision to go to war and the resulting closure of Hormuz.
A closure that Trump claims "nobody could have foreseen" when everybody in fact did.

@WhitewolfOr7 What yo wrote resonates
I asked Grok to make a 1960's protest song from what you posted.
Then fed it to Suno.
Not too bad.

Oregon was once a land of rugged opportunity, timber, tech pioneers, and hardworking families building the American Dream in the Pacific Northwest. But starting in the late 1980s, as Democrats locked in control of the governorship and legislature with no Republican trifecta in decades, the state became a laboratory for leftist experiments. The results? Skyrocketing homelessness, urban decay in Portland, failing schools, businesses fleeing, and policies that punish success while coddling chaos. Oregon Democrats own this mess.
After the last Republican governor, Vic Atiyeh, left office in 1987, one party Democrat rule took over. They shifted school funding with Measure 5 in 1990, promising relief but delivering bureaucratic bloat and mediocre outcomes. Instead of strong basics in reading, writing, and math, Oregon kids get indoctrination. Today, too many Oregon schools rank poorly nationally, captured by unions that prioritize politics over parents and standards.
Fast forward to the progressive era: Portland’s embrace of “defund the police,” harm reduction, and radical experiments turned a vibrant city into a national punchline. Measure 110 in 2020 decriminalized hard drugs, flooding streets with fentanyl and open air addiction. Homeless encampments exploded, businesses boarded up, and downtown entered a “doom loop” of crime, vacant storefronts, and declining foot traffic. Violent crime spikes followed George Floyd era policies, with slow police response times making neighborhoods unsafe. Even after partial reversals, the damage from decades of soft on crime Democrat governance is baked in.
Economically, high taxes including income taxes that drive talent away and anti business regulations have stalled growth. While the nation recovered, Portland’s metro lost thousands of jobs in recent years, with high paying sectors hit hard. Housing costs soared due to restrictive zoning and progressive mandates, pricing out working families. Population growth slowed as Oregonians voted with their feet, heading to lower tax, safer states. Overreliance on volatile income taxes and social spending experiments left budgets strained, even as roads crumbled and services lagged.
Homelessness remains a disgrace under leaders like Tina Kotek, tents everywhere, failed “housing first” approaches without accountability, and billions spent with little results. Green deals and environmental extremism hurt traditional industries like logging and energy, trading blue collar jobs for virtue signals. Democrat supermajorities keep doubling down more spending, more rules, more excuses.
The pattern in Oregon mirrors the national Democrat playbook, erode law and order, expand government dependency, prioritize ideology over results, and watch American exceptionalism bleed out. From the 1980s timber transitions mishandled through today’s urban collapse and economic stagnation, Oregon proves that unchecked progressive governance doesn’t build, it destroys. Oregonians deserve better: lower taxes, safer streets, school choice, and policies that reward work, not welfare. It’s time to reject the failed Democrat vision that turned the Beaver State into a cautionary tale. America, and Oregon, can do better. 🇺🇸 🐺

@han64compuserve @CynicalPublius Inflation was almost 40% in Biden’s four years. Gas was over $5/gallon. Biden’s employment numbers were proven false and corrected down, and government hiring was responsible for most of whatever increase was reported. Our military was as useless as our president.
English

@TinaKotek Tina your inner monologue is failing …. You said this out loud: “I want to increase taxes to make sure more people can kill babies.” You can’t make this up. 🤦🏻♂️
English

@FightsForgotten 39 just too old against a qualified fighter in his prime.

@Routine_Blur I'm glad the other white guy ended up winning
English

@TinaKotek Jesus Tina you might want to sit this one out. Everyone knows that you and your cronies have made oregon a tax hell while enriching NGO’s, stealing tax $ and killing the quality of life in Oregon. I pray you read the comments here - I don’t see one that agrees with you.
English

@TMSTRS_ @EndWokeness Given to “non-profits” lol. Or NGO’s. Or the government. If you are t happy with how a place is run then move somewhere else. Or maybe stop with the rent control and give la Flores the ability to pay for upgrades.
English

@EndWokeness Non NYers are really upset that Mamdani is holding slum lords accountable who neglect their tenants & properties ?
Pathetic & low IQ.
Mamdani is a generational politician who will be remembered as one of NYC’s best

@kalenakhalifa @KATUNews It’s gotten enough votes to be on the ballot. So you are telling people who are against it to ignore it. Sounds like you want it to pass
English

A proposal to make hunting and fishing illegal in Oregon has received enough signatures to advance to the Nov. ballot. The Sec. of State needs to validate all the signatures first. A Portland City Council member wants to rename Cesar Chavez Blvd. Details: katu.com

An effort to criminalize the killing of animals for food in Oregon is a step closer to being on the November ballot.
IP-28 would make it illegal to injure or kill animals and would effectively ban hunting, fishing and the breeding of animals. katu.com/news/local/ore…

@SenAdamSchiff Tulsi is cratered faced lying fraud. Obama could’ve ripped her apart if he wanted for starting trouble with him like that, but he didn’t. May she receive everything she deserves. It looks like she already is.
English

My thoughts go out to Tulsi Gabbard and her family, as her husband battles this serious health problem. I hope and pray that he makes a speedy and full recovery.
While the circumstances around her departure are deserving of our sympathy, let’s be clear: Tulsi Gabbard’s only positive contribution to our nation's national security is her resignation.
She politicized intelligence. She dismantled critical agencies keeping Americans safe. She weaponized the IC to pursue baseless election fraud claims. And more.
We must ensure that her tenure — marked by a devotion to the person of the president and not to the security of the country — represents a terrible exception at DNI and not the new normal.

If that addict on your street were your own son, what would you do? That is the defining question that guides my 5 step plan to fix the homelessness problem in LA. We *must* end this evil racket of corrupt politicians and NGOs who profit off the misery of these poor souls. They launder money and feed them more drugs, so they can keep their customers locked in this hell on our streets. We have a moral obligation from God to help them and make our city safe and clean for everyone. Karen Bass and Nithya Raman have forsaken this city. Time for real leadership. Time for real compassion.

@BigPopz72 Who posted this? Should be a graphic warning cuz now I can’t unsee that mess. 🤢

@WallStreetApes @pdxmoderate I live in Oregon. She got off cheap! Wait till the come for the rest. 🤦🏻♂️

A woman who lives and works in California had $20,000 taken out of her bank account by The Oregon Department of Revenue
She’s never lived in Oregon yet they were able to get her bank account information and take her money
Oregon said the woman owed the money in unpaid income taxes and penalties, but she didn’t. She’s never lived or worked there
She called and apparently Oregon has an address for her that was literally a public park
They told her it would be 5+ months to refund her money. The woman had to get the local media involved to put pressure to make them give the money back faster
Eventually, Oregon admitted it was a mistake
Another state should not have access to out of state residents bank account information

@AmericaPapaBear Would have taken 20lbs of force to knock that fat ass over. Guarantee he couldn’t get up once down. Pathetic that people all ran.
English

@Brink_Thinker Obviously from her performance he could tell she had no idea what she was doing.

@bighurtrocks @ClownWorld Me too! Then I was like, ohhh. Then I was relieved because at least it was a woman. So … progress.

@ClownWorld Ohhhhh…Hannah’s the big one! Sorry, watching with the sound off 🤷🏻♂️😂
