@mkvenu1 Its bad foreign policy of Modi Jaishankar as was expected and not black swan event. Other nations prepared from Iraq & oil shocks of 70s & 90s. Modi was busy hugging & cheap optics while China invested in pipelines, storage, regasification infrastructure with Russia

Dr. Brahma Chellaney@Chellaney·
Beneath the exchange of greetings marking Eid and Nowruz, yesterday’s phone call between Indian Prime Minister Modi and Iranian President Pezeshkian quietly laid bare a strategic divergence. India’s readout focused less on assigning blame than on limiting disruption from the war. By condemning attacks on “critical infrastructure,” New Delhi crafted a deliberately ambiguous position — one that could apply equally to U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran and to Iranian-linked attacks on regional energy assets. The Indian emphasis on “freedom of navigation” signaled concern over Iran’s effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz but without confronting Tehran. This is risk-management diplomacy: protecting energy flows, avoiding entanglement and maintaining selective neutrality by steering clear of any implied criticism of the U.S.-led “Operation Epic Fury,” including the deliberate avoidance of the word “aggression.” Iran’s readout of the same conversation struck a sharper tone. Tehran framed the conflict explicitly as unprovoked U.S.-Israeli aggression against Iran and used the opportunity to press India for action. By linking the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to India’s current role as BRICS chair, President Pezeshkian effectively presented a quid pro quo: If India wants “freedom of navigation,” it must use its “independent role” to force a cessation of U.S.-Israeli “aggressions.” The contrast is telling. Both sides used the same conversation for different purposes. India struck a careful balance, engaging Tehran just enough to try and safeguard its energy lifelines. Iran, for its part, reminded India that those lifelines now run through an Iranian-controlled chokepoint and thus are dependent on Tehran’s goodwill, a reality that could complicate Modi’s “iron alliance” with Netanyahu and subtle pro-U.S. tilt in foreign policy. Put simply, the polite language of the call cannot obscure the fact that India and Iran are no longer strategic partners but cautious actors negotiating the terms of an increasingly transactional relationship.

Nice to see this analysis by @akm1410 in @MorningContext referring substantially to NDTV’s big turnaround in 2021. Took a lot of hard work +sacrifice by all (> 2000) employees to shift from losses to steady profit and be declared “the best media stock in the country”
Ashish K. Mishra@akm1410

Ever since the its acquisition by Adani, NDTV has been taking on costs and should post its highest loss in the current FY. Cash on the books is quite thin and fundraising must begin again, beginning and ending at the promoter's door. I write in @MorningContext.
