@Jason_epi @delatorre Valid points. What doesn’t make sense to me is why teams with multi-million dollar NIL budgets and teams who need money from the state to feed their players on road trips are competing for the same title.

@VinnnyD @delatorre D1 is immense. This tournament mirrors the College Basketball Tournament format, only with regional hosting sites on campus in baseball programs' hometown. Attendance at Regionals is much higher than other lower revenue sports!

Committee chairman Matt Hogue says they looked heavily at records vs. common opponents + a look at series wins more so than just individual wins.

@KP_Omaha What about an allocated amount of non power-5 at large bids? Many of these teams have great seasons, but a conf. tourney win remains the only route to the regionals.
This year, there was a 28 win team chosen over a 44 win team.
If SOS is the only indicator, why play the games?

3. No more Regional 2/3 seed placing. Seed them all 1-64 (hopefully 1-72) and serpentine the entire process. We can’t trumpet the immense growth of the game if we don’t seed the tournament based purely on merit. It’s time.

I want to thank everyone for the support of our program over the last few days.
We are truly saddened by the NCAA selection committee’s decision to leave us out of the field, and feel awful for our players.
We remain proud of our historic season even though it ended too soon.

Lamar Baseball:
1) Second most wins in the country
2) swept the Big 12 Champions on the road
3) Played Alcorn State last Tuesday because the selection committee told us not to cancel the game even though it dropped us 7 spots in the RPI

@MattMoscona More players are transferring out of the SEC than into it. Historically, they would have been career backups/ST guys, but also provided the team with experience/depth. Now, SEC teams are thinner at key positions like OL/DL. Other power 5’s teams are more competitive as a result.

NEW: here is the relevant portion of the video released by the Louisville Metro PD this morning. It shows Scottie turn into the lot and a police officer chase after the car and bang on the window. Scottie then stops the car immediately. I cannot believe THIS is the footage the Mayor said would “speak for itself.” This might as well be a silent film. This is what the LMPD believes is a felony assault on a police officer? What a joke.

I still can’t believe this incredible stat Justin gave us. This was the easiest PGA Championship by TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOUR SHOTS. We got an entertaining finish but I don’t see how anyone can feel like the best players were challenged to do anything but go low.
