With the ABS system in place there’s not only new content for videoboards, but scoreboards have to keep track of how many challenges are left. They already had to display how many mound visits remained.

On this date in 2013, I happened to catch a shot of Don Newcombe signing autographs for some kids at opening day at Dodger Stadium. He then came over, shook my hand, greeted me and graciously gave me an interview as if he’d known me all his life. A great man who is missed.

It appears at least one deck worth of ribbon boards has now been installed at Dodger Stadium after shipping issues delayed their arrival for the start of the season.

The 11-minute delay in the Iowa-Illinois NCAA Elite Eight game because the scoreboard horn in Houston would not turn off isn't unique in basketball this season. The horn in Detroit stuck in the on position for 18 minutes on Feb. 28 during the Cavaliers-Pistons NBA game.

Here's how the Orioles unveiled their new scoreboard before opening day. They showed how small the old scoreboard was in comparison before unveiling the new one, and then a tribute video to the ballpark played after. The new scoreboard really does make quite the difference.

Happy to hear Charley Steiner on the Dodgers radio broadcast for Opening Night. You could hear the absolute joy in his voice when Rick Monday introduced him. Hoping he exactly as many more games as he wants to.

Dodger Stadium will be without ribbon boards for the Opening Series. The stadium upgraded its ribbon boards over the offseason (and added a third level) but stormy weather/ship complications delayed their arrival.
