It was their great great great great great great great grandchildren who fitted the roof.
Driven by devotion to their god and religious fervour they pursued this seemingly endless task for generations, brick after brick and today we can all admire their work, they have been immortalised by their feat.
Elon Musk will most likely never go to Mars, he will not live on Mars or raise a family on Mars.
But in the 2100s if all goes to plan, those future colonists will look back at the man who set the foundational stones to the technology that put them there.
