As per standard protocols laid by State Government, the MoU signed with Puch AI on 23 Mar 2026 was reviewed. Necessary details as per SOP were sought from the investor, but they failed to provide them timely. Due diligence showed lack of net worth and credible financial linkages for the project's scale. On directions of the State Government, the MoU is cancelled effective today. No rights or obligations remain. Taking a further step to ease supply of commercial LPG, Government of India has decided to increase the commercial LPG allocation of states to 70%, with 20% allocation given to industries such as steel, automobile, textile and other labour intensive industries. Priority will be given to those industries where piped gas is not a substitute.

International crude prices have gone through the roof in the last 1 month from around 70 dollars/barrel to around 122 dollars/barrel. Consequently, petrol and diesel prices for consumers have gone up all over the world. Prices have increased by around 30%-50% in South East Asian countries, 30% in North American countries, 20% in Europe and 50% in African countries. The Modi Government had two choices- either increase prices drastically for citizens of Bharat as all other nations have done or bear the brunt on its finances so that Indian citizen is insulated from international volatility. Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji, in keeping with his Government’s commitment of last 4 years since the conflict in Russia-Ukraine started, decided to take a hit on its own finances again to safeguard the Indian citizen. Government has taken a huge hit on it taxation revenues to ensure very high losses of oil companies (approximately 24 Rs/litre for petrol and 30 Rs/litre for diesel) at this time of sky high international prices are reduced. At the same time, export tax has been levied as international prices of petrol and diesel have skyrocketed and any refinery exporting to foreign nations will have to pay export tax. My gratitude to Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble FM @nsitharaman Ji for this very timely, bold and visionary decision!

ईंधन पर एक्साइज में बड़ी कटौती: आम जनता को राहत
सरकार ने वैश्विक स्तर पर बढ़ती कीमतों के बीच आम नागरिकों को राहत देने के लिए बड़ा फैसला लिया है। पेट्रोल पर एक्साइज ड्यूटी को ₹13 से घटाकर ₹3 प्रति लीटर कर दिया गया है, जबकि डीजल पर ₹10 की ड्यूटी को पूरी तरह समाप्त कर दिया गया है।
पश्चिम एशिया में जारी तनाव के कारण कच्चे तेल की कीमतें पिछले एक महीने में लगभग $70 प्रति बैरल से बढ़कर $122 प्रति बैरल तक पहुंच गई हैं। इसके चलते दुनिया भर में पेट्रोल-डीजल की कीमतों में भारी वृद्धि हुई है—दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया में 30-50%, उत्तर अमेरिका में लगभग 30%, यूरोप में 20% और अफ्रीका में करीब 50% तक। ऐसे समय में भारत एक अपवाद बनकर उभरा है।
इस चुनौतीपूर्ण स्थिति में सरकार के पास दो विकल्प थे—या तो अन्य देशों की तरह कीमतें बढ़ाकर बोझ जनता पर डाला जाए, या फिर खुद वित्तीय दबाव सहकर नागरिकों को राहत दी जाए। मोदी सरकार ने दूसरा रास्ता चुना और आम आदमी को वैश्विक महंगाई से बचाने का निर्णय लिया।
इस कदम से तेल कंपनियों पर पड़ने वाला भारी नुकसान भी कम होगा, जबकि आम जनता पर अतिरिक्त बोझ नहीं पड़ेगा। सरकार ने अपने कर राजस्व में बड़ी कटौती करते हुए नागरिक हित को सर्वोपरि रखा है।
साथ ही, डीजल पर ₹21.5 प्रति लीटर और एटीएफ पर ₹29.5 प्रति लीटर का निर्यात शुल्क लगाया गया है, ताकि देश में इनकी पर्याप्त उपलब्धता बनी रहे और अंतरराष्ट्रीय कीमतों का दुरुपयोग न हो।
यह निर्णय दर्शाता है कि सरकार कठिन वैश्विक परिस्थितियों में भी आर्थिक स्थिरता और जनहित को सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता देती है।

((दो-तीन साल पहले का उनका ट्वीट भी पढ़ें)) 2013-2014 का दौर था, मधु किश्वर जी इंडिया न्यूज के दफ़्तर आतीं और तब के तत्कालीन सीएम नरेन्द्र मोदी के कसीदे पढ़ते थकती नहीं थी. “मोदीनामा” किताब का शीर्षक आपको सबकुछ बता देगा. मोदी ने जब उनकी किताब के लिये इंटरव्यू दिया तो उसे इंडिया न्यूज पर चलाया जाना था. मोदी को नुक़सान ना हो, उनकी कोई ग़लत बात नहीं जाए, उनकी छवि पर असर ना पहुँचे, मोदी नाराज़ ना हो जायें, मोदी जैसा अच्छा इंसान मैंने नहीं देखा, ये बातें संपादकों पत्रकारों से न्यूज रूम में शेयर करते मधु किश्वर नहीं थकती थीं. मैं उस समय बदलते राजनीतिक माहौल के बीच पत्रकारिता सीख रही थी. कई बार तो न्यूज़ रूम में ये भी चर्चा हुई कि मोदीनामा, मधु किश्वर ने इसलिये लिखा है क्योंकि वो राज्यसभा जाना चाहती हैं. मधु किश्वर से कुछ लोग मजाक में ये बोल देते थे तो वो शरमा जाती. मैं उस न्यूज़रूम का हिस्सा थी. आज उनके बेहूदे शब्द और भड़ास देखकर हैरान हूँ. राज्यसभा नहीं मिलने पर अंगूर खट्टे हैं वाली कहावत इन पर सटीक बैठती है. हमारे यहाँ बुजुर्गों के प्रति सम्मान की बात कही गई है मगर राज्यसभा नहीं मिलने पर 75 साल की मधु किश्वर का इतना फ़्रस्ट्रेशन ? इतनी कुंठा? इतना घिनौनापन? ये तो ठीक नहीं है मधु किश्वर जी. ईश्वर आपकी मनो स्थिति को ठीक करे 🙏🏻
