Can we take a moment to appreciate that an AMERICAN Pope is out here on the international stage showing more compassion, backbone, and basic human decency than the actual American government? Pope Leo XIV has been unafraid to push back on the Trump administration's cruelty — calling out the dehumanization of migrants, the abandonment of the poor, and the moral bankruptcy of policies that hurt the most vulnerable among us. It is genuinely refreshing — almost jarring — to see an American in a position of global power speak with empathy, clarity, and moral courage. No cruelty for clout. No performative toughness. Just a man saying: these people matter. All of them. Trump and JD Vance love to wrap themselves in Christian language while gutting every program that actually helps people. The Pope isn't having it — and honestly? Neither are we. This is what moral leadership looks like.

The government hid every piece of evidence from the killing of Renee Good. A federal judge just said hand it over. Renee Good was shot and killed by ICE agent Jonathan Ross on January 7 in Minneapolis. She was sitting in her car. She was an American citizen. A poet. A mother. She committed no crime. And for three months, the federal government has refused to release a single piece of evidence about how she died. They removed Minnesota's Bureau of Criminal Apprehension from the investigation. They blocked state investigators from accessing any materials. They refused to identify Ross publicly until news outlets did their own investigations. A high-ranking White House official personally overruled ICE's own initial agreement to cooperate with a use-of-force investigation. They didn't just cover it up. They built a wall around the cover-up. On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Bryan tore a hole in that wall. He ordered federal prosecutors to turn over Ross's complete personnel and training files, all statements Ross made in the 60 minutes before and during the shooting, witness statements, body-worn camera footage, cell phone data, medical records related to Ross's fitness for duty, and DHS and ICE use-of-force policies. They have three weeks. "This judge is effectively doing the investigation that the United States has turned its back on," said Shauna Kieffer, a defense attorney in Minneapolis. The order came through a side door. Ross was involved in a separate violent incident last June where he attempted to arrest a man during a traffic stop and was dragged by the car. That man was convicted of assault. His defense attorney argued that evidence from the Good killing could reveal a pattern of reckless behavior by Ross that's relevant to sentencing. The judge agreed. If Ross's conduct is found to have contributed to the earlier incident, the court could reduce the convicted man's sentence below the guideline range. Meaning the evidence about how Ross killed Renee Good could prove that Ross himself was the problem all along. The state of Minnesota, led by Attorney General Keith Ellison, is also suing the Trump administration for blocking the state's own investigation into the shooting. The federal government fought every attempt to get this evidence into the open. A judge just overruled them. The body camera footage exists. The witness statements exist. The truth about what happened to Renee Good exists. And it's coming out.

Britain's Prime Minister just said he's "fed up" with Trump. Then he refused to join the blockade. The "special relationship" is over. Keir Starmer went on national television and said what no British leader has said about an American president in modern memory. "I'm fed up with the fact that families across the country see their bills go up and down on energy, businesses' bills go up and down on energy, because of the actions of Putin or Trump across the world." He put Trump's name next to Putin's. On purpose. On camera. When asked about Trump's threat to destroy Iranian civilization, Starmer didn't hedge: "Let me be really clear about this. They are not words I would use, ever use, because I come at this with our British values and principles." Then came the blockade. When Trump announced the US would blockade the Strait of Hormuz, Starmer flatly refused to participate. "We're not supporting the blockade," he said. "This is not our war and we're not going to get dragged into it." Trump has called Starmer "not Winston Churchill" and compared him to Neville Chamberlain for not joining his war. He publicly mocked Starmer at a White House Easter event for saying he needed to "ask" his team before sending British ships to the Middle East. Starmer responded by refusing to send them at all. Now look at the full picture. Spain closed its airspace to US military aircraft and refused access to its bases. Sanchez said Spain "will not applaud those who set the world on fire just because they show up with a bucket." France's Macron is building a coalition of medium powers without the US. Italy's Meloni, Trump's closest European ally, publicly broke with him. Starmer told reporters the UK would form a "closer partnership" with Europe as its relationship with the US becomes increasingly strained. And Hungary's Orban, Trump's favorite strongman, just lost in a historic landslide. Britain. France. Spain. Italy. Hungary. Every ally Trump had in Europe is either gone, defiant, or voted out of office. The Western alliance that took 77 years to build is realigning without the United States. Trump didn't just start a war. He ended the American century.
