@lizziedearden Thanks for your excellent explanation. The problem seems to be that the slow nature of the process you describe creates a vacuum that is easily filled. Even normal people have a curiosity and desire to know what’s going on, the refusal to give info just amplifies misinformation

Imagine a lot of these big red deer on many Scottish estates, some of these herds are huge and are fed in winter making natural tree regeneration almost impossible! Deer numbers have to be controlled !

The fig is a x-section through the atmosphere with features shown to scale (in height) apart from Manhattan which is shown in plan form, whether its rotated 29 E makes no difference. The top of Manhattan is not twice the height of Everest
