Ocelot and Liquid should be locked in the top 3. If you don’t consider The Boss a true antagonist then it’s not crazy to put Skullface over Volgin, Solidus, MG2 Big Boss, etc
Metal Gear Takes@MetalGearTakes
"Skullface is a top 3 villain/antagonist"
English

@MetalGearTakes Naomi is what we would’ve saw if we saw paramedic turn into Dr Clark. It would seem very jarring and hard to believe. Everything about her character would be resolved if it was just a different character or if they cut all the Vamp and Otacon stuff with her.
English

@Sonik0t @Sunne_Three That’s a fine criticism but that’s not how people talk about it on here. Ppl who claim to love BOTW will say it’s a DLC and then also say it’s terrible. How can it be both a BOTW clone and be terrible. You can say it’s a bad sequel or worse than BOTW but it’s not a bad game
English

@VirtuousOrbit @Sunne_Three It’s not the worst thing ever it’s just a game that feels like it could have been DLC.
English

@fortnitebigboss Even portable ops is better written than any resident evil
English

@MetalGearTakes Snake looks a little rubbery sometimes but the rest of them look great
English

@flushinzz @lunyracent You can disagree with how something is written and take the role because it’s all fiction at the end of the day. An actor themselves being a bad person is a real world thing. Roman Polanski always wrote questionable stuff but nobody cared until he actually acted that way.
English

@nierOrbit @lunyracent Yes it does?? Like the actors weren’t forced to take the role
English

@flushinzz @lunyracent Being offended at a word choice is writing criticism, it has nothing to do with the actors or anyone’s perception of them
English

@nierOrbit @lunyracent Who cares even if they’re not criticized tho ppl still can be offended bc they’re still saying slurs
English

@flushinzz @lunyracent How many actors have been criticized for that? The only one I can think of is Tarantino but he’s the writer so when he says the nword, it’s all him. Nobody ever thinks Leo is racist cause of Django or that Christoph Waltz is a nazi even though their performances are convincing
English

@nierOrbit @lunyracent I can highkey do that and no even if it’s fiction it can apply. Like for example there’s so many pieces of literature or shows in general where the actors go crazy with the hard r even though that word is extremely fucked up to say I gotta separate the character from the actor
English

@flushinzz @lunyracent The reverse doesn’t apply since that’s obviously fiction. Nobody is attributing Frenchies actions to his actor either. Like you can’t just watch the Cosby show and reasonably be like “it’s good if you just ignore the serial rapist lead”
English

@lunyracent You’re ruining your own experience with the show, like every other character frenchie doesn’t reflect tomer like the same way the murderer rapist homelander doesn’t reflect Antony Starr
English

@Squarezum @MetalGearTakes The grief and need for revenge was shown well but not Skull Face’s connection to it. I thought they should’ve shown Skull Face talking about it or shown Kaz specifically mentioning him more. They kinda just blame Huey for it the whole game more than Skull Face
English

@nierOrbit @MetalGearTakes Idk ground zeroes and early tpp really showed Kaz’s grief and thirst for revenge. Not sure about it being better than tlou but it wasn’t really missing in mgsv (or maybe not really portrayed well).
English

@Zizoplays1 I dont care for Skull Face either but Sahelantropis was a decent threat to chase around for pt 1. The panic at mother base, Hueys trial, Quiets exit, Truth tapes, and Medic reveal are all great in pt 2. The story that exists is very good it’s just not told/paced in the best way
English

@nierOrbit Only interesting parts of V's story are the tapes, outside of that? It's kinda not there for like at the very least half of the game
Also doesnt help the fact that skullface isnt a good villain, has very little screentime and is supposed to be a threat when he was mostly a joke
English

Kinda funny how Arkham knight, BO3 and MGSV all came out in the same year and all of them have a noticeable downgrade writing wise compared to their previous games
old memory@old_memory
2015 is a top 5 year for me
English

@MetalGearTakes Seeing Old Snake is the reason I got into the franchise. I’ve never seen someone put their beloved protagonist in such a withered and dire state. It was so compelling and ambitious. My favorite design and character.
English

@ShadAkuma @NINtendo_maya Would’ve felt unsatisfying if ocelot escaped and we just never saw how Snake and Otacons work progressed. MGS still has so much mystery even after MGSV so idk about that and Psycho Mantis and The Sorrow are still basically just magic. MGS4 isn’t perfect but it served its role
English

@nierOrbit @NINtendo_maya It really didn't need to exist, it broke all of the supernatural aspectof the series and killed all of it's mystery (explaining everything which isn't a good thing) on top of over extending every single character for either fan service or a shitty story.
English

Really funny to say MGS3 is the one that feels like a forced sequel and not 4, the game that's practically kojima blinking at you in morse code to free him from the chains of konami
Sly@SlySinatraa
This might genuinely be the worst of psuedo-intellectualism I have seen on Twitter, what does this even mean?
English

@MetalGear_QWC The first time I sprinted in this game, I couldn’t believe how fast and fluid he was moving. It actually felt powerful being Big Boss.
