@Virologica The RT-PCR values are typical of samples from which virus can be isolated. This, plus labelling for non-structural proteins (directly linked to replication) is good evidence that there was replication. Presumably it's similar to the 'tiger heart' observed in lambs.

Wow definitely one to read in detail! Certainly circumstantial but was it just viral rna? How much, what tissues? Was antigen detected, how widespread, what cell types? Any serology? Any evidence of viral replication eg neg sense rnas? What did the histo look like? fascinating!
