In an unusual turn of events, an order issued by Director General of Police (Head of Police Force) Sandeep Rai Rathore - who was appointed to the post by ECI on April 2 - asking IPS officer Sandeep Mittal to hold full additional charge as Head of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) was overridden by a letter issued by Home Secretary K Manivasan hours later. Manivasan named AT Durai Kumar as Director (in-charge) of the investigative body.

Few Journalists were allegedly roughed-up by the bouncers accompanying #TVK Vijay at #Trichy Airport on Friday. When journalists approached Vijay to ask questions, his bouncers blocked them, pushing the reporters to the ground. Following the commotion, police and CISF escorted him inside the airport. This is not the first such incident when journalists were attacked by Vijay's security. On April 2 also, during Vijay's nomination filing visit, bouncers secured the airport exit premises restricting Reporters for which they dont have power to do so, while it was removed later after confrontation
