I woke up a little while ago feeling like I was drowning…
It took me a few minutes to properly get my breath back.
The world right now is overwhelming…
1. I cannot even begin to understand how the media and politicians in the west are getting away with promoting and supporting the continuing child murder in Gaza. Netanyahu is a genocidal monster who financed Hamas (for those still talking about ending Hamas in the wake of so many deaths of innocent children, young women and men). There is no “what about…?” or “but…” Just stop killing kids, you psychos.
2. How on earth is America even considering the re-crowning of orange muppet rapist escaped convict scary clown? How nuts should history put you down as?
3. Can we please stop worshipping AI and start remembering humanity? Compassion, kindness and consideration for others used to be a thing before the digital fascists started applying the word “woke” to anything friendlier than a hand grenade.
4. We recently spent years in on off lockdown… Community is everything. It’s so good to be able to enjoy, celebrate and support others without worrying that might kill us… We should remember how lucky we are.
I think I needed to write all that.
Drowning feeling’s gone.

This is Frank and he has had a coffee stand at the top of the steps at Bethnal Green tube for as long as I can remember.
When the new restaurant/coffee shop next door opened along with another high street outlet opening across the street, Frank suddenly found that his license from the council had been revoked and he was chucked off his stand.
I believe it was to make way for these new shops to take his regular custom. They didn’t need him in the way of gaining maximum profit... so Frank was gone.
Well the locals were having none of it and a petition started demanding his return.
How dare they do this to him.
How dare these people smash his business and leave him with nothing.
After a lot of pressure the council backed down and Frank had his licence and pitch returned to him but sadly by that time Frank had sold his equipment to feed his family and try to survive.
So the good people of Bethnal Green started crowdfunding and here’s the result... Frank back in business on his old pitch with brand new equipment and even a little hut now to shelter him from the rain... Brilliant!!
He is truly the happiest man in East London and it’s wonderful to see.
It really does show that if we all stick together, stand up to them and just say no... the little guy can win.
If you’re in Bethnal Green come and have a coffee with this lovely man. 🧡

Since my Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s almost a decade ago, I haven’t had the courage to listen to “Fix You”, one of my all-time favorites songs. But then this happened at #Glastonbury. @coldplay + @MichaelJFoxOrg on stage. Music is so incredible. ♥️

The Daily Mail is gonna have an aneurysm about this Idles set, they got the crowd to shout “fuck the king” called Farage a fascist, had a prop of kids in a small boat crowdsurfing during a pro immigration song and ended by shouting ceasefire now. Fucking legends.

I begin my day by quoting the unsolicited opinion of this persistent anonymous troll, who seems to genuinely believe that my description of his apparent idol, Farage, as a “toxic vessel of hate” (an opinion that gained 8,400 likes so far), is an indication of my “mental illness”.
Normally, I simply block these deluded folk but this one has caught my attention for several reasons and for what he represents (namely, the currently media-inflated importance of a party that literally platforms Hitler fans and demonstrably unvetted racists as candidates) :
1. He has expressed a clear entitlement to a justification with evidence on this forum of why I believe Farage is racist.
2. He has repeatedly presented straw man arguments, like the ones below where he has assumed I see anyone I disagree with as a “racist fascist” (I obviously don’t), that I am somehow anti-white (I’m obviously not) and that I’m “drunk on religious hatred” (I’m an atheist or agnostic at best), that he then uses to determine I am “mentally unwell”.
3. He has a mindset that I come across over and over again on this platform. He attempts to use my non-engagement with his malice or my intense loathing of racists as evidence of my cowardice, poor mental health or, most ironically, my “bigotry”.
4. He seems to believe what he is saying.
Now admittedly, given that I grew up being repeatedly taunted and physically attacked by racists (sorry to repeat this), I am prone to outbursts of frustration and anger when these idiots (sorry again) crawl out of the woodwork. For those who say “get over it”, I would if the modern perpetrators of my childhood experiences weren’t constantly platformed and empowered by MMS.
Those who follow my opinions here will know I don’t hold back in expressing my views on racism.
So yes, I will concede I can sometimes appear disproportionately concerned by people I would normally just laugh at in real life.
However… The Reform party is polling uncomfortably well right now and ignoring that fact no longer seems a viable option.
So, here are my closing thoughts on Farage and Reform.
In an interview with @mrjamesob many years ago which you can see here tinyurl.com/mr2jzm48 , Farage clearly expresses his discomfort at select people speaking certain “foreign languages” in public. He also makes a point of distinguishing between people of Romanian heritage and German heritage as worthy of his neighbourhood. That, in the wider context of the car crash interview, was an unapologetic admission of his racism and was literally called out as such in the interview.
Farage and Reform are dangerous to this country because, with their bonhomie banter and insidious attempts to dehumanise and demonise immigrants, they are normalising a mentality that led to the holocaust last century and to the ongoing genocide of children in Gaza.
Theirs is the politics of superiority and entitlement by virtue of race and heritage. It disgusts me on every level.
People like the one quoted below are the tip of an iceberg that threatens to sink this country forever unless we avoid it now.
Enjoy your day.

Just to let you all know, since I’ve had so much support from followers here and at our shows, that my ❤️🩹 and face (having cut it up after blacking it out over a glass ornament that shattered and left huge shards in my face) is continuing to heal well after my recent heart attack and I’m excited for forthcoming shows @hayfestival on 30th May, @wigmore_hall on June 5th, @glastonbury on June 29th and @CamFolkFest on July 26th with my wonderful band. Hopefully see you there :) 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️🩹
