@stickley_owen 1 thing I've noticed is the panel lines... or lack thereof. Most of the detail lines on older WFs tend to be a result of an elevation change or a fold that they accentuate further, As opposed to just scuplting a line on the surface just for detail. Quick tut on how I do that:

@kosmiverse It was a shame because DE liked the helmet too and were looking forward to the 3rd version but I was tired of working on that piece by then & people have asked about it here and there over the years so I think it's been long enough to try again It's been 5 years haha

@kosmiverse Yea, the 1st ver needed revisions to match Rev's look more, which I agree with The 2nd ver materials didn't match Rev close enough. Horns weren't allowed to float as well After that, I just felt burnt out on the design I didn't feel like doing a 3rd version

@stickley_owen Yea I used to not split things up either. But then I saw that that's how most people use Zbrush so I have to push myself to split more. I try to keep it all low res so I don't blow up my computer haha. My sculpts tend to stay under 3 mil polys before polishing honestly

@VoidPunch This is actually something I’ve been really trying to push myself to do more recently. Makes such a difference. I never considered splitting it up so much though so I’ll have to try that out too

@stickley_owen Also, maybe helpful advice? Making your sculpt out of a lot of little meshes in the beginning helps allow you to adjust the forms easier. Can also allow for parts to overlap better. Then if you dynamesh them, they retain those intricate shapes Took me a while to figure that out

@stickley_owen Thanks, yea hope that helps! my Excal helmet was a lot of studying of Mynki's style. I had a sub painter file of Excal open while I scuplted too so I could rotate, zoom, and examine the details better haha I highly recommend. You can see just how lumpy Excal actually is!
