We figured out that dad has a psych med induced neurological injury, and has been suffering from akathisia. It’s been 6 years since any psych medications. Last summer his symptoms started, after a flare up likely induced by mold (CIRS) and stress. It was complicated by pneumonia and associated sepsis a month later. It’s been horrible. Neurological injuries from psych meds are far more common than people know. I made this video to explain what they are and what akathisia is because they’re not talked about enough, they’re misdiagnosed, nearly impossible to treat, and hidden by the pharmaceutical industry. I don’t plan on making another update about my dad, it stresses my family out, and myself, and there’s nothing more to say about it until things get better. I will be jumping up and down about psych med injury awareness from now on as it’s impacted my health as well, and is devastating. Prayers are appreciated still.

@xwanyex He's a director, not a mathematician. He accesses the truth in a different way. Braveheart, Apocalypto, The Passion of the Christ are incredible movies full of truths. Logic gets us a long way, but also falls short in many ways. There are other paths to truth.

If consciousness requires a biological quantum substrate (microtubule lattice, 20W, Meyer–Overton across 150 years), then silicon isn’t conscious and never will be. @ARozenshtein Because there are mathematical proofs showing that any system of formal math is necessarily limited in understanding. Gödel's incompleteness theorem shows that all formal systems are limited in ways that human consciousness isn't.

I really don't understand the confidence with which people hold this position. Philosophers have been arguing for thousands of years over what subjective experience *even is* and there's no consensus. How can we be sure that AI not only doesn't have such experiences but never could?

It will be programmed to do exactly what it does, and those who program it will convince you it is alive and controlling itself. And then they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, with a perfect scapegoat. The greatest atrocities ever seen can be conducted with no accountability.
