@Vontz Was listening to your assessment of the first episode of Unchained about how quick/curt the delivery was in the moment Ben was told about Gino. I can’t help but wonder if that may not be the *actual* moment that Ben heard the news, but rather a “reality TV re-enactment.”

Couldn't agree with Andrew more: "Doing hard things is fun." I seem to have a habit of choosing the hard way. Thanks for having me on @hardwaypod about my journey with engineering, cycling, Polkadot, and skiing. choosethehardway.com/episodes/joe-p…

Controversial one perhaps Which rider that has been proven to be a cheat is still an idol of yours? Mine has to be Il Pirata.

@doctorinigo @Brunodelchincol @doctorinigo will there be any negative second and third order health consequences from persistent use of high CH fueling strategies over long training histories (decades) for amateur athletes?

I’m fortunate to be involved in different areas of research like diabetes, cancer, cardiology, ICU patients and I attend to learn (and even speak) at multiple conferences. All I can say is that the egos I see in some people in the field of sports performance research are quite pathetic…😬

18 years ago when I started measuring carbohydrates oxidation rates in the lab, I saw that the current guidelines (35-55g/h) were not adequate for the demands of elite competition. I started to recommend and apply 80-100g/h with my athletes and even 125g/h with some… Back then, several “top” nutrition academics with little to no experience working with elite athletes, highly criticized me as it was “absolutely impossible” to digest that amount of CHO. Recently a bunch of these academics are publishing guidelines and traveling the world giving conferences recommending “exactly” 90g/h… Take-home message: sports and nutrition scientists are important and we must listen to them. However, in several instances, most orthodox academics don’t have experience working in the trenchers with athletes and they can arrive a good decade late to novel concepts… Experience is always very important and that must be valued and respected… Great article here featuring a great nutritionist @MVAitor velo.outsideonline.com/road/road-trai…

@Cyclingnewsfeed Consider the second and third order consequences of an Amazon deal with @JumboVismaRoad on the future of the @netflix unchained franchise and what impact that in turn might have for lesser teams and the sport in general.
