The distance from Kyiv to Helsinki, for reference, is a just under 1200km, or well within the range of the An-196 drone.

Russian information operations propagate the claim that Baltic states are allowing their airspace to be used for attacks on Russia - which according to international law could mean they have become party to an armed conflict. This is propaganda. A Ukrainian drone crossed airspace from the Russian side and landed in Latvia. Russian channels use this as a pretext. Within 48 hours the same “information” appeared simultaneously across state media and Telegram: the Baltic states had “opened” their territory for Ukrainian strikes.
Latvia’s Defence Ministry is warning against this dangerous information campaign. The claim is false. The defence ministers of all three countries said so jointly. The fact that a formal joint statement was necessary tells you something about the pressure the narrative was already generating. It could not be ignored.
The template is familiar: a real incident, injected content, amplification, translation to local languages - messaging aimed precisely at Russian-speaking communities and young people. The objective here is not to win an argument, because there is no argument. It is to erode trust in institutions. It doesn’t need to convince majorities - working the margins is enough. The information environment is the front where Russia is still effective.

This is completely wrong. All Ukraine’s attacks on Russian oil infrastructure have been carried out using Ukraine’s indigenously developed drones and cruise missiles. No American weaponry has been used.
