This is a HUGE victory for justice. Let’s hope the trial for the last three of the Spokane nine goes the same.

🎼 Happy Adoption day to me,
🎶
Happy Adoption day to me,
🎶
Happy Adoption Day, Dear Annie,
🎶
Happy Adoption day to Meeeeee! 🎶
I didn’t come from my mom‘s uterus and certainly not a stork. I came swaddled in the Legal document that made me a daughter.
I won the adoption lotto when I was adopted. Not everyone has a happy adoption story, but I was fortunate enough to break all of the molds.
The rule of law can be frustrating. But it creates marriages, families, citizens, partnerships, and businesses. Things like adoption and marriage equality and legal protections mean something. It’s paperwork that structures our rights and our lives and can build families, country and the American dream. ♥️

Poison in our water. Again. We are seeing the problems with this locally. This decision-making is insane, It will be entertaining to know why the Maga crowd would be OK with this. Everyone should be outraged, but I have been on this earth too long to not expect 30 to 40% of Americans to be OK with this.

Can we please stop calling SCOTUS conservative?
NO decision by the court should ever be partisan. They should be Constitutional. Setting aside for one moment the bias, recent decisions by the court that play favor to Trump and the goals of Project 2025 are not even Conservative in nature.
They are biased. But they are not “Conservative”.
A political conservative is “an individual or ideology advocating for the preservation of traditional institutions, social order, and established practices, favoring gradual, incremental change over radical reform. Key tenets include limited government, free-market capitalism, strong national defense, and traditional social values, often rooted in Judeo-Christian morals” (Wikipedia, n.d.).
This court has brought forth radical reform, ignored established practices, and violated the tenets of free market capitalism.
More often than not, their radical decisions have had an opposite and disastrous effect on stated intentions.
The Dobbs decision which ended Roe v. Wade and sent reproductive rights to the state, was a Pro-Life movement intended to decrease the amount of abortions in this country, but it did the opposite. Since the first several years abortion became legal in this country, it was in a steady, continuous decline. After Dobbs, not only did abortion increase, we have also seen increases in maternal and infant mortality, as well as reduced access to OB/GYN services. In addition, some states have such monstrous restrictions, women are being unnecessarily tortured often forced to carry dead fetuses and as a result sometimes losing their ability to reproduce altogether. Women and doctors are under threat of charges for murder, for a practice that has been a part of reproductive care since biblical times.
Citizens United was passed on the premise of free speech for corporations. We are “we the people”; not “we the Incorporated”. This decision not only allows unlimited amounts of corporate and private money into our political system; it de facto diluted the rights of everyday citizens’ speech because the price tag is now hundreds of millions of dollars. This was not a gradual change that protected established social order, if it was a windfall of cash that completely disrupted political influence in our country.
The recent voting rights act decision also violates any definition of conservative. It’s racist. Using a hairline split on definitions of partisan gain, it renders useless protection for minorities in this country to have their voices heard.
Justice Kagan argued in her dissent, “The Voting Rights Act,” she wrote “is—or, now more accurately, was—‘one of the most consequential, efficacious, and amply justified exercises of federal legislative power in our Nation’s history.’ It was born of the literal blood of Union soldiers and civil rights marchers. It ushered in awe-inspiring change, bringing this Nation closer to fulfilling the ideals of democracy and racial equality.” And only Congress can say it is no longer needed—not the Members of this Court.”
The court continues to embarrass itself through its bias and the media has played into this by casually labeling the court conservative, as if it’s merely a difference in opinion in how the constitution should be interpreted. Personal opinion and political leanings should not touch the court AT ALL.

Trump came out and addressed the outrage over that viral image.
The media instantly ran with the usual hysteria and tried to turn it into something it never was.
He made it clear 💯 it was not a depiction of Jesus, it was him as a doctor, tied to the Red Cross.
But once the fake news crowd smells a narrative, context never seems to matter.
Amazing how fast people invent controversy when the truth was right there the whole time.
Why do so many people rush to outrage before they bother to get the facts?

Sooooo…
Before the war the straight was open.
Before the war we had reasonable cause to withhold funds bc of Iran aiding Hamas.
Before the war we had an uncomfortable cap of Uranium at 60%, but authority to negotiate from a position of power and ally support.
Before the war, we did not have a pending bill for reparations.
Before the war we had legitimate complaints about attacks on US installations.
Now? We are negotiating to get that back.
Trump’s position? Whatever happens- we win. That math ain’t mathin’. It’s hilarious to watch the GOP call the sky green and grass blue and sad as hell to watch MAGA nod along.

He’s untrustworthy. He’s proven it. Your school girl crush ignores the conflict on its merits. If you were “US MN GIRL” instead of “MAGA MN GIRL” the Constitution and this country’s best interests would be priority instead of propping up a wannabe dictator who has no priorities other than his own ego and his pocketbook.

The things that the US did during World War II to aid Europe during Nazi occupation were tremendous. And I think the pride of that moment was in many ways earned legitimately, but also some Americans tend to dismiss the efforts of the countries we were helping, and the other countries that also stepped in to help.
The combination of those attitudes have instilled in many Americans, the false thought that American involvement is always a good thing. Also that American involvement is always done for the right reasons.
This is a false narrative on so many levels and history clearly proves where American involvement has sometimes not only been bad with good intentions. It is also been bad through selfish intentions, and Iran is no exception to that rule.
Foreign policy needs an overhaul with regards to not only our intent in being involved in foreign nations and foreign conflicts, but it also needs an overhaul with our own ego.
The idea that the American way or American involvement is always beneficial is a prejudice we have about our culture, our society and how this nation developed into a democracy.
The dedication of many Americans to aid countries that have people fighting for democracy is, I believe, is something that is pure of heart. But we must be able to step back and use our heads and consider what the best action to take is, not only for US interests, but for ALL interests.
Too many times our country has used the people of a foreign nation as an excuse to get involved for selfish interests. When in reality, we are not helping at all and seldom get what was desired considering the cost of war.

@MAGAMNGAL @Tim_Walz By killing them. Good one. 🙄

According to my Iranian-American friend, about 90% of Iranians want the Ayatollahs gone. Estimates for killing protesters of the government ranged from 7k to as many as 30k over the last 6-9 months.
These pictures are from Iran before the Shaw left and Ayatollah Khomeini returned.
The majority of people Trump is trying to “obliterate” are democracy seeking people living under an oppressive regime.
I hope the cease fire will become an end to the conflict for all our sakes. I hope someday that the people of Iran can lead their own country through free and fair elections, but killing everyone is not a success. It’s just mass murder.
“Ayatollahs are not Iranian. They are some kind of animals that have taken Iran hostage.” My friend
