These days, it's easy to imagine better politics, but my opponent’s decision to attack my voting record during my time deployed overseas in the Marines is a new low. Calling veterans that honorably served failures, and attacking veterans voting records when they were unable to vote is shameful.

My policy platform includes many reforms, but I prioritize three key issues. #1. Rebuilding Ohio’s economy. Once a powerhouse, Ohio now ranks as the 11th worst economy in the country—failed leadership is to blame. Second, #2. Stopping political corruption like the recent $1.3 billion FirstEnergy fraud, which stole from hardworking Ohioans. Current politicians have enacted no reforms to prevent future theft, and some, including my opponent, accepted campaign contributions from FirstEnergy. #3. Friends, I am writing to you this morning to urge you to vote YES on Issue #1, an anti-gerrymandering initiative built to prevent politicians from rigging voting boundaries to their advantage. The Ohio Supreme Court has 7 times in recent years thrown out redistricting maps for our state because politicians in charge have shaped the voting boundaries to their party’s advantage. Issue #1 will change that by creating an impartial citizens’ commission to draw the maps. This weeks volunteer of the week is Maddie! Ty on Maddie: My niece has always been beautiful, from the cutest little girl to a lovely young woman. But when I think of Maddie, her inner beauty stands out. She was “Miss Popular” at Mason, yet she always went out of her way to make everyone feel included, especially those who might be left out. Now, she’s facing a big decision about where to go in the fall, but whichever school she chooses is the real winner. I’m just thrilled she decided to join us on Saturday—everyone she met is now voting Hogan! Maddie on Ty: I have had the privilege of knowing Ty my entire life and I can attest to his exceptional character, unwavering dedication, and profound commitment to serving others. Ty’s decision to leave a successful career on Wall Street to serve our country as a Marine exemplifies his selflessness and bravery. His military service has instilled in him a sense of duty and responsibility that he carries into every aspect of his life. Education is a cornerstone of Ty’s philosophy. He not only earned a degree from Harvard but also emphasizes the importance of education in his role as a professor of economics at UC. Ty empowers the youth in our community, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge necessary to succeed. He understands that the future of our society lies in the hands of our young people, and he actively works to nurture and guide them.
