📣 Candidates: It’s time to start tracking your election expenses Anyone planning to stand in the 2026 election to the States Assembly must begin recording all campaign spending from 7 February 2026. 🗳️ What you need to know: - Keep receipts, invoices and any proof of spending throughout the campaign - Spending limits apply during the regulated election period — 7 February to 7 June 2026 - These limits, set out in Jersey law, help ensure a fair and level playing field for all candidate - Alongside the base limit, candidates may spend an extra 13p per voter in their constituency - Parishes will confirm updated figures before nominations open in April - All candidates must submit their expenses after the election — whether elected or not 👥 Third parties must also declare any spending that promotes or prejudices a candidate or political party during the regulated period. This includes, for example, paid advertising that encourages voters for or against a specific candidate. 🔍 After the election, the JEA will audit all submitted expenses to ensure transparency and compliance. 📩 Questions about the election?
