so they made the entire Gen V spinoff of The Boys to build up Marie Moreau as an equal of sorts to Homelander... the one person strong enough to face him head on. now with 3 episodes left, everything from that show has barely even been mentioned. and i dont wanna hear about it being just a spinoff and that it shouldn't be important to the main story cuz the spinoff is VERY important cannon. these last 4 episodes will make or break this entire show for me tbh

I love South Park but The Boys does it comedically and mockingly like SP whilst also using it to create an incredible narrative as well as plotlines. Also writing is subjective ass wipe.

It’s encapsulated in the scene with Butcher in this episode where Butcher almost flat out states this. Homelander is getting more frantic, more human.

Before he was pathetic but still intimidating. Now he's just pathetic and his intimidation is trivialized. He's no longer a villain whose power characters fear.

@amasah_sam93800 @IGN This is commentary politically on Donald Trump, it even predicted him posing himself as Jesus in a recent AI generated photo last week which is hilarious. It did all this whilst progressing Homelander’s character as a brilliant villain/antagonist.

@amasah_sam93800 @IGN It also made super interesting commentary, using Homelander and having him appoint himself a god in full. He doesn’t even possess immortality yet he claims he is a god, he will be worshipped and loved in his mind. Gonna reply to myself one more time to finish this.
