Esa es una foto bonita de un transceptor Icom IC-9700 todo modo. De 144, 430/440 y 1200 MHz, ¿cuál es tu banda y modo favoritos? ¿Lo usas para satélite? ¿Algún DV y DD de D-Star? That's a nice photo of an Icom IC-9700 all mode transceiver. Out of 144, 430/440, and 1200 MHz what's your favorite band and mode? Do you use it for satellite? Any D-Star DV and DD?

@WA4OSH First want to use as normal PA to see the real BW. This was a WIMAX device and is obsolete now. I want to see what I can learn to make my own in these bands?

Terrible news today: I just found out my friend and former Platoon Sergeant Dooley Buckner, W4VDW, is now a Silent Key. We deployed to Iraq together where he operated as YI9VDW. See you on Fiddler's Green, VooDoo Whiskey. Halfway down the trail to Hell, In a shady meadow green Are the Souls of all dead Troopers camped, Near a good old-time canteen. And this eternal resting place Is known as Fiddlers' Green. I Volunteer, Sir!

D.E.P #OndaMedia

I used to find it so absurd that in manufacturing, size of the machine is so much larger than the components it produces. Once I started designing and building our own machines, I realised that precision components need to be made on rigid platforms and use certain bought out components with proven track record of reliability and performance. Also, most of these components are very old tech with some upgrades over the years. It got me thinking, is it possible to reduce the footprint of these machines? Technically, yes. But then all the bought out components (servo motors, drives, CNC controllers, LM slides, gearboxes etc.) would need to go through a complete ground-up redesign, years of R&D and maybe even exotic materials. In conclusion, it’s possible to shrink down those machines in your factories but the ecosystem does not support it yet and the cost of doing that would be exponentially higher, unless there’s enough economies of scale. If it were me, I’d probably start with the servos and controllers.
