Since amply funding K-12 public education is the state's paramount duty, and as districts across WA are facing budget crises, we will expect most of this revenue to go to our public schools.

We will be urging #waleg to use that extra $400M in capital gains tax revenue to help school districts close budget deficits so as to prevent further cuts and closures.

The regionalization factor was always a crock. It set adjoining districts up to fail, & there was never a good cohesive plan as to who got the larger regionalization percentage & erroneous assumptions undergirding all of it. #waleg

The result of the steady cut to regionalization, as well as the McCleary fix as a whole, is to pit teacher salaries against music classes, special education against smaller class sizes. #waleg is deliberately forcing budget cuts and has shown little interest in fixing it.
